  • I didn't watch this video but I watched the podcast previously. I've actually done a lot of research on this programme. I think these threads praising the PP need to be ensure that they don't skip very important pieces of information. Andy was on methotrexate around the time that he started the PP. He's still on methotrexate and he hasn't sustained a long period of remission off any DMARD medication. Obviously, it would be amazing if he does and clearly, I wouldn't wish RA symptoms on my worst enemy. However, he is not the only individual who has given a testimonal without being able to evidence a long period of remission of all DMARDs. I would be interested in any case studies/stories with objective evidence (such as; normal CRP and ESR and/or no further joint erosions on imaging) who have maintained remission for, say, 2 years on a method like the PP or AIP.

    Think everyone would love all the boxes ticked for those of us who've implemented dietary/ lifestyle practices long term:

    ◻️ off all DMARDs

    ◻️ retained normal CRP/ ESR

    ◻️ showed no further joint erosion via imaging

    ◻️ maintained remission for 2+ years

    ◻️ etc. . . .

    I'd tried to contact early forum participants (early on when I'd first arrived at the NRAS forum) who'd discussed their dietary/ lifestyle approaches years ago.

    I'd not heard back from them — not 1.

    (Nor have I seen any of them returning/ participating in this forum, in recent memory. 😔 )

    I'm guessing those individuals could hold some wonderful insights 👀 , keys 🔑🗝 for us all. 🙏

    Would love for any of them to re-visit, come forward, and update us on their status. 😃 🙏

    Don't know how/ if there's any way to re-connect/ re-engage with those folks as they appear to be long gone.

    They could well hold some extremely useful anecdotal info/ data (years long 🤗 ) & insights for all of us. 👍

    In meantime, those of us experiencing improving QoL (Quality of Life), continue pursuing whatever (combination of) approaches that work well for us.

    For those of us who've had a taste (even a small taste) of improved QoL — we (I) don't see us ever giving up our new practices to risk backsliding to the way we 'used to be'. 😳 😯 😱

    We continue marching forward in hope (belief? faith?) that we will retain our improvements — not backslide.

    And, with continued efforts, hope to make even further improvements. 🙏

    Shifting slightly off topic — but related/ broadening outward:

    Can't help but contemplate a query (I think we've all asked ourselves):

    If given only 2 choices, would we prefer a:

    🤔 Shorter life expectancy 👩 with increasing QoL❓

    🤔 Or, longer life expectancy 👵 with decreasing QoL❓

    .

    Think once we've answered this for ourselves, it affects the choices/ amount of 'risk' we're willing to take.

    [Guessing (merely my opinion/ speculation) those of us who do both — 'gamble' with pursuing dietary/ lifestyle approaches (in conjunction with our meds as necessary) increase the probability of improving our QoL as well as our lifespan. 👍 We try to 'cover both bases' to improve our odds of improving/ healing.]

    Then again, this ties in with how effective (or ineffective) our trail of med history has been.

    Those of us faring well on the med front, we may feel no urgency to explore other approaches (in conjunction with our meds) as we are content with the 'risk rewards ratio' (& QoL) as it's working well for us. 👍 (Gawd bless & long may it last. 🙏 👍 )

    On the other hand, for those of us not as fortunate (those of us who've run the med trail as far as it will take us & have now run out of options), the dietary/ lifestyle path may then be the only option remaining for us.

    Thus we've 'less to lose' on the 'risk rewards ratio' (& QoL) front.
