Vitamin D

Does anyone have evidence (for a questioning GP) about vitamin D levels? Mine was 172nmol/L and GP says it’s too high. However optimal is stated as 250-350.

Vitamin D

I have just read a post that suggests vitamin D may increase palpitations in AF..My GP had suggested I take vitamin D to help with the aches and pains of Polymyalgia. Seems one drug to help hinders another. I don't want to aggravate my afib. Has anyone any facts/opinions on this?

I ask because I have been taking quite a high dose, 10,000iu a day and have had horrendous crippling leg pains which, after a bit of google research, might be down to the vitamin D dosage. As I also take other supplements I wanted to check which might be the cause.

Did anyone else listen to Tim Spector’s recent radio interview ( part of the Zoe Health Study) about research which shows mushrooms are like humans and can generate their own Vitamin D from the sun? I found it fascinating and certainly one way of introducing natural Vit D into my diet.

Vitamin D supplementation.

I have finally got my nine weeks done on no change to thyroid meds after a period of changing meds too quickly for my body to cope properly. I will post the full results when I have had a proper chance to study them. Trying to understand them for myself. Since January (mental issues and big physicals

Vitamin D level

Have been on Evenity for 2 and half months and the Vitamin D is showing at 112. I keep reading that it can be too high over 100 and do harm, has anyone any thoughts on this? Also, I am wondering if the drug would make the Vitamin D go up anyway and if it was OK. Thanks

Vitaman D and Prostate Cancer

Large studies of vitamin D supplementation will be required to determine whether these observations can be translated into prevention strategies. This paper reviews the available data in the use of vitamin D compounds in the treatment of prostate cancer.

Vitamin D

I received lots of good advice, including to look at taking vitamin d. I then received my latest bloods showing a vitamin d deficiency. So I have ordered my vitamin d with my tesco delivery. Has taking vitamin d helped others with their asthma.

Vitamin D is often mentioned here, as is fibromyalgia. I thought some here might be interested in this article: https://www.hcplive.com/view/vitamin-d-may-improve-quality-of-life-in-fibromyalgia

Dr. John Campbell on Vitamin D and Prostate Cancer.

John Campbell discusses a (in his opinion good) meta-analysis of Vitamin D and prostate cancer mortality. According to his assessment of the analysis, Vitamin D reduces all-cause mortality in those with prostate cancer.

Steroids

Also he needs to eat foods with potassium and he should take Vitamin D. Should he speak to his GP even though the steroids are being managed by his neurologist? Or should he buy over the counter Vitamin D etc? Thank you all.

Recommended Vitamin D Level?

Mark Scholz somewhere where he was recommending to his patients a target serum Vitamin D of at least 50 and more optimally an even higher level of 70. But I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know of any sources of information on target Vitamin D levels related to Prostate Cancer?

v=yL31wtijV4Q Since vitamin D gets mentioned in so many posts on here I thought this was interesting. It has nothing to do with the thyroid.

Optimum

I’m UAT and take 1 grain Armour Thyroid am and 3/4 pm with vitamin D, K2 , Mg and B Complex. I’m also on Oestrogel and Utrogestan. TSH is suppressed due to long term T3. What is actually considered optimum levels for T4 and T3 - also vitamin D?
