Flu Jabs

I read a paper that a doctor put online about autoimmune diseases and having the flu jab. He said if someone with autoimmune diseases gets the flu they should ask their gp for antiviral drugs.

Why gut bacteria are becoming key suspects in autoimmune diseases.

Unfortunately, it does not always get it right and sometimes attacks the body’s own cells, causing hundreds of ‘autoimmune’ diseases, from multiple sclerosis (MS) to rheumatoid arthritis.

Found this info while doing some research..Etanercept

Etanercept, sold under the brand name Enbrel among others, is a biopharmaceutical that treats autoimmune diseases by interfering with tumor necrosis factor (TNF, a soluble inflammatory cytokine) by acting as a TNF inhibitor.

Flu jabs and autoimmune diseases

Is it safe to have flu jab when you have autoimmune diseases? I always have had the flu jabs, but last year it gave me a very bad flu that lasted from November to mid February. I am too scared to Rusk it this year. It is so debilitating and usually leaves me with another health problem.

What does "High" mean really?

If I have antibodies flagged as "high" on a blood test which are associated with Sjogren's (Anti-SS-B), Polymyositis (Anti-Jo-1) and SLE (Ribosomal P), does that mean I have all three autoimmune diseases? I was originally confirmed with Lupus.

Allergies, Lupus and the vaccine

I am quite reassured from the perspective of my Lupus and other autoimmune diseases about getting it but I have severe allergies (anaphylactic reactions) to septrin and nuts, so I'm really concerned about this and would love to hear from someone else with severe allergies and Lupus who's had the jab

Autoimmune Diseases along with MS

Hi friends, I am writing about this because I am sure that many of you struggle with other autoimmune disease (AD)along with MS. It really is not fair that more than one disease process gets to cause problems in our bodies. 🙁 I have noticed that my other AD has been under control since March when I

Beyond b12 Injections - What else can we do?

- Realizing your risk of other autoimmune diseases (http://apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/APJCN/25/2/221.pdf). I had Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism for years before my b12 deficiency appeared. Has anyone come across literature like the above link that shows associations to other autoimmune diseases?

Autoimmune conditions (Hashi’s/Graves’s) and the COVID-19 vaccination

At present there is no research on people with autoimmune diseases and the COVID-19 vaccine. It is known that some people will have some minor side effects but not everyone. The vaccine is NOT obligatory although, of course, it would be safer for you and everyone else around you to have it.

RA & ITP

I didn't realize the range of autoimmune diseases, and how they are all linked and connected to each other. Scares me that I might have a third one coming. Hematologist reccomends that I follow up with Rheumy on the new diagnose, and treatment changes if any. I'm so drained and exhausted.

Positive anti chromatin and anti histones

I am happy with my treatment plan, knowing many autoimmune diseases are treated the same.

Does anyone know why TPO antibodies are on the ANA test if Graves disease and Hashimoto’s are not systemic autoimmune diseases?
