Dr Goldner's straight forward approach is easy for me. People I've spoken to about the diet say they couldn't do it, give up their food is unthinkable. Green smoothies are not their fav.
Nothing surprising, I'm positive I'm healing. I have no pain since starting the green smoothies and raw diet 3mos ago.
My RA Dr told me to eat healthy and get my nutrients from food rather than taking vitamins/supplements. I told her at my last visit that I was on this diet. She seemed ok with it and we discussed reducing my meds. And she did reduce my MTX. And talked about reducing my Humira to once a mo rather than twice monthly.
My next visit is Sept.
I'm not perfect and eat out dinner w friends occasionally and eat chicken avg once a month eating out. I don't notice any adverse reactions from stepping off the diet whenever I want.
May I ask, are you following the diet? Are you an RA patient?

(So much overlap with other plant-based approaches, think we're pretty much all in the same arena 🏟 , under the same umbrella ⛱ . 👍 )
Very understandable. 🙏 Palates unused to green smoothies 🌿🍹 can balk 🤢 .
Yet, once we get used to the initial 'yuck' factor 😝 — there's no turning back.

Yet, (laughably) that means 'different things, to different people' . . . 😂
Guess we're 'left to our own devices' to figure 'that bit' out . . . 😯 😳 🙃
Agreed, ideally relying solely on food is 'the way to go'. 👍 👍
Unfortunately, there are times in our journey when (severe) deficits 💀 in nutrients require us to 'supplement' with vitamins/ supplements 💉 💊 — short term (or long term).
Physician-prescribed (high dose) Vitamin D (hormone) 💊 (for example), can get us over a hump when we've lapsed into severe deficiency 💀 . [Additionally, being chronically ill 😵 (for some time) can tip us into 'anaemia of chronic illness' 😴 😞 , so we have to default to supplements in an attempt to recover/ restore our bodily system. Ingesting even increased quantities (piles) of food alone can't provide the required (nutrient) 'dosage' to restore steep 📉 deficits. 😯 ]
We can eventually wean off some of these vitamins/ supplements provided we 'improve' 📈 (physician-monitored) along the way. 👍
Think as we get over 'the worst of it' 😵 💀 , supplements fall wayside & nutrient-dense, whole foods, smoothies, etc. meet most of our nutritional needs. 🤗

Have had good fortune 🎰 with plant-based/ lifestyle approach (migrating into PP) — several years in, after starting off with 'anti-inflammatory' 🌿 foods.
(Wild stuff! 😃 Who'd a thunk it?! 😯 😆 )
Doing far better now than realised possible. 😳 🙃 No complaints. Merely persevering & working toward improving even more since tasting 'wellness'. (Can never go back to 'the way it was'. 😱 😩 )
Tangentially: In hindsight, don't think we fully realise just how unwell we are (while in the midst of illness 😵 ), until we've had an ongoing experience of improvement/ recovery. 🤔 (Perhaps that's 'nature's way' of 'keeping us going' in the midst of unwellness? 🤔 Dunno. . . 🤷♀️ 🤷♂️ )
