Iodine

Is iodine OK to have with hypothyroidism? By which I mean in milk substitutes etc. Thankyou.

I would be interested in learning of personal experiences with taking iodine. The good, the bad, and everything in between. I think I may test my iodine and tyrosine levels next! Ever learning. Love and Peace.

Any idea why when taking any dose of iodine along with protocol it send my tpo rising. Trying to figure this for some time now. Lots of people with hashimotos take iodine with no problem.

I have Hashimoto's and feeling very anxious at the moment as my functional dr told me to take an iodine supplement as my iodine levels were/are low (I am on 1 grain NDT). I didn’t do my research which was silly of me as I usually am very thorough at checking everything before I take it!

Hi I believe iodine is pointless with hypothyroidism but does it cause more health problems? Thank you

I have found a pregnancy vitamin supplement however it has 150mcg of Iodine in it. I understand Iodine is not good for those with hypothyroidism and we do not need it BUT my future baby will rely on my Iodine intake during the first 12 weeks.

Please recommend or share your experience how to use iodine with HYPOthyroidism (hashimoto's)

could someone clear up the iodine issue with me? I was under the impression that it was bad to take iodine. Due to trying for a baby I have resorted to a private nhs gp who specialises in hormone health.

Around last year in 2023 to early this year 2024, I could not find T3 anymore in Greece and it was getting increasingly difficult to source for them online so I thought I would experiment with weaning T3 and doing Iodine (Lugol's) for treatment as I researched that iodine therapy might help hypo patients

Iodine - again! My reading of this suggests that, in the general population, we want to see [i]relatively[/i] high selenium levels. And, in particular, we want that state [u][i]before[/i][/u] any increase in iodine levels - whether from diet, iodised salt or other sources.

I am unable to find a drink to help aid my recovery what does not contain Iodine. Can anyone help with advice. I wish to avoid soy and gluten also. Thank you.

Iodine is often taken as a protection against radiation. Would iodine tablets be helpful during EBRT? Or would they be counterproductive? 4.) Is it safe to be near small children approx. 1 hour after an EBRT session? Thank you
