My question is that one of the supplements he has me taking is a multi vitamin that contains 150mcg of
iodine
. I’ve to take this for 3 months and though I don’t know much about this I’ve read on here and many other places that
iodine
is bad for those suffering from thyroid disease.

Iodine supplement
I would be interested to know if anybody has taken an
iodine
supplement to support thyroid functon and have they noticed any benefits? I've been advised that it helps to eliminate harmful bromine and fluoride stored in the thyroid gland?

Use of iodine in CT and PET scans
I am aware of the danger of taking
iodine
supplements and their possible effect on the thyroid. Does it follow that investigations requiring intravenous
iodine
as in some CT and PET scans pose a risk to people with Hashimotos?

Iodine and Povidone - A Chemistry Lesson
Over the years, we have seen many mentions of povidone-
iodine
. This video is the first time I have ever come across a proper explanation as to why povidone-
iodine
is chosen! It then continues with its aim of extracting pure
iodine
from povidone-
iodine
.

Question for thyroidectomized patients: iodine processing issues?`
I do not have a thyroid, and wonder - since the thyroid is by far the organ with the highest need for
iodine
... how does
iodine
get processed in the body of someone who does not have a thyroid?

I’ve heard really good things, but it has
iodine
in, so I’m not sure if I can try it with hashimotos.

Iodine supplements caused enormous spike in TSH levels in 2 months, anyone else had this?
The spike in TSH over 2 months has terrified me, I am assuming its the
iodine
intake as that is the radical change to my diet. Has anyone else experienced this and how quickly did levels reduce after stopping the
iodine
? thank you so much

Safe to Take Iodine?
I'm considering taking a high-quality multivitamin but it does contain
iodine
; would this have any negative effect given my borderline elevated FT4 levels? I rarely consume high-
iodine
foods. My full thyroid results: - TSH: 1.58 mlU/L (Normal range between 1 and 2.5).

ERFA with added iodine
Hiya.I have recently sourced a batch of ERFA via a private pharmacy, but after reading the fine print on the bottle, I have noticed it also contains 0.2 % of
iodine
. I thought this would be counterproductive, as
iodine
supplementation is not recommended with hypothyroidism?

anemia but digestive issues (diarrhea)/multivitamins
She is hashimoto, medicated with levo, and has been taking a multivitamin with traces of everything, including folate and
iodine
in high doses, as adviced by doctors. I am very much against the use of
iodine
for her but her doctors have recommended. My nephew is already 18months.
