Day 21
I
quit
smoking
21 days ago and was wondering how everyone else felt at this point? I feel healthier but have been suffering alot of heartburn and bleeding g gums. As a dental nurse I know how nicotine affects gums so not overly concerned about that. The heartburn is my main worry. Thank you π

My birthday
I expect it will be a challenge as most of my friends smoke but I am sure I shall enjoy my birthday more for not

I've had derealisation for 3 1/2 years now.
I thought it would just go away after I
quit
smoking
so I wasn't scared. Well eventually I did
quit
smoking
and it never went away. Started smoking again a year and a half later in college for about 6 months. The derealisation got about 4x worse. It's stayed that way ever since.

Can I really do it this time??
This time I do really want to
quit
. I have been practising the last few days by not
smoking
at all the times i would normally light up; getting in the car, after eating, sitting in traffic jams etc.

Vaping to quit smoking
Vaping is a 'healthier' alternative to
smoking
. The only healthy way to not smoke is to
quit
altogether, but vaping is quite a bit safer if you can't just quit. Also, the second hand from vaping is harmless to those around you.

First day
After A LOT of failed attempts (close to 100) I decided it's time to
quit
for real. One thing is, I have asthma and
smoking
really just makes it worse. So I'm guessing it's the right moment to quit. Let's just hope it works this time!

Life threatening asthma attack last sunday
I have smoked for over 40 years but after attack last sunday I have
quit
smoking
and never will again smoke. I felt I was drowning in my own fluids Doc told me another 5 minutes late and I would of been a goner. So I have made a life style choice never to smoke again.

Another Sleepless night
Not sure if I need to cut back on the
quit
smoking
mints or what but it's getting frustrating. Just want a normal sleep pattern to start. Sorry for complaining as I know everyone has there own struggles. Thanks for listening :)

Questions
Do you need a
smoking
aid such as gum to help you
quit
? The answer to that is no. Those may make it easier for you but you can be successful without an aid as well. Things like the gum and other items are not available to every one.

Am so weak :(
I got up today and put on my patch. I had a relapse over the weekend but was determined to stick with it as my reasons for wanting to stop are still at the forefront of my mind. I walked to the chemist to get an inhalator and had gum at the same time. I am on holiday this week and for some reason could

How does one bring up Vitamin D levels when deficient?
He
quit
smoking
two years ago and has gained about 15 pounds since that time. He doesn't move a lot. What would be the suggestion as to vitamins and minerals to help him with his Vit D up?
