Do you need a smoking aid such as gum to help you quit?

The answer to that is no. Those may make it easier for you but you can be successful without an aid as well. Things like the gum and other items are not available to every one. So its important to know you can stop the old fashion way -cold turkey.

I am doing it cold turkey and from what I have read Im not suffering any more or less then those who have help.

The propose of this post is just to let folks know they can do it even if they cant afford the gum and pills.

Well done on your I week quit a lot of people have quit going cold turkey. But as every one is different some find it hard some don't that is why we have AIDS to help and depending on what country you live in some don't have to pay for the AIDS hope you stay cold turkey and don't have to have any help take care

Hi crazyaces well done on your quit.

Strong determination to become smoke free and the belief that you will succeed is the key - with or without aides βœ…πŸšπŸšπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ€

Well done crazyaces :) you are doing fab . X

I'm doing it with NRT and I realise that means I am still feeding my nicotine addiction. However, what's most important for me is that I am not putting the other 3999 chemicals into my lungs, I don't stink, I'm not harming myself and so on. I'll deal with the nicotine addiction on April 24th, 3 months after I stopped worshipping the White Stick God. But anyone who can do it cold turkey had my admiration!

Totally agree with you desparate dad!!, I knew I couldn't do cold turkey so I used the lozenges, I have just weened myself off those so it wasn't so dramatic to my system. I'm actually doing ok, but do often find myself standing in the smoke path of people.

cold turkey was my only option. If i could of gotten aid in stopping I would of. As long as we kick Mr nic ass then we win. I read up on stopping smoking before I i tried it. I was so disapointed when I read that cold turkey had only a 3 % success rate. It really scared me but so far 17 days and counting. I am going to be in that 3 % .!!!

Congrats on 1 week cold turkeyπŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ You can do it........ I believe in both.... NRT or cold turkey..... I'm doing cold turkey.... I'm finally free of the dependence feeling like I need a cigarette to help me cope...... Best wishes fromπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

4am Monday

Good morning breezybreβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ

Mr Nic loves it when we're craving. ..... Not one puff.... Think of the reason most why you need to stop smoking..... Mine was stroke and now after supporting many of our quit support family with COPD, I'm even more determined... Not to mention other serious illnesses..... Addiction is cunning and patient waiting for us to stumble.....

Pleeease stay smokefree today .... 🌺🌸🌷🌺🌸🌷

Love and best wishes from πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Hey breezybre,

I was just thinking... πŸ€” Β If your cravings get too bad , there is always nicotine replacement options.... I used them for one week because I was so sick with withdrawal symptoms ....
