1 months smoke and e-cigarette free!
So pleased that I'm now 1 month free from horrid smoking and nicotine! Feeling a little better each day....anxiety is still horrible though. Today is bittersweet as although it has been 1 month since I gave up smoking...it has also been 1 year since I lost someone very close to me from cancer. My boyfriends

Improving COPD
Hi all you quitters 😀 I thought you may be interested in this small tale from a reformed smoker. Some 2 years ago, just after quitting after 40 years, I was diagnosed as having COPD (mild to moderate emphysema) I was particularly happy about this...strange you might say?.?? Well it turned out to be

Day 9.......
This has been the worst and hardest day of my
quit
so far. I've spent all day, ALL DAY, obsessing about
smoking
. I feel broken, exhausted, yucky, angry, grumpy and crap. It has taken all of my resolve to not smoke today.

Step 1 - ashtrays gone!!
Hi I just joined this community today, looking for motivation to stop smoking - I am diagnosed COPD, which should be motivation enough, but after 40 years as a smoker and a reluctant retirement a couple of years ago, I have been struggling with a 'what's the point?' feeling about life & stopping. Today

Going on Insulin
I then woke up and drastically overhauled my diet,
quit
smoking
and took up exercise lost 3-4 stone. Loving Life but even so my sugars never drastically reduced were always high readings They then said my thyroid was damaged and they hoped it was this causing my sugars to run high.

5 weeks (10days nic free)
5 weeks ago I was ready. Patch on, determination at the forefront of my mind. I have tried several times to quit before, but always felt I was 'giving something I enjoyed up' This time it was for me. I wanted to feel better, smell better and be less anxious. I used the clear niquitin patches for 25

Food cravings changing???
I
quit
smoking
for 2 weeks tomorrow and am using the patch. Its still beem difficult but I believe that the NRT is helping me with this battle. Anyways. I am wondering if any of you have noticed that you are craving different foods as a non smoker than what you used to crave when you smoked?

Anxious and worried again about lung/heart damage. Searching the internet for answers, but only making me more scared. Similar stories help!
I
quit
smoking
4 months ago and since that time I've noticed my breathing is a bit more taxed and I just feel a bit funny. It's almost like I've been swimming in a heavily chlorinated pool all day, my lungs just feel gunked up.

Relieved
My granddaughter went to school and told all the teachers my tummy was so big because there's a baby in there and that's why Nanny isn't
smoking
anymore. I'm into my 8 week of
quit
and been back to the Doctor I cannot believe I have only put on 2 kilo.

Panic attacks/anxiety
When you first
quit
smoking
...did you all have anxiety attacks...and if so how did you deal with them. I am not sure why I am having them. I do my yoga, walk the dogs, and try to relax. All of the sudden I get a panic attack. It's awful.

Day 9
I never completely realised how tough quitting would be. I always had this belief that if I could get to day 3 or 4 I would be OK and once the physical addiction is done, the rest would sort of take care of itself, haha, yeah right! Even though it feels like I have the crazy cravings under control,

Anyone familiar with Mepolizumab (Nucala or Xolair)
He's 63,
quit
smoking
about 23 years ago after about that many years as a smoker. This past winter, he had several severe exacerbations. He is healthy otherwise and his pulmonologist tells us he's the healthiest patient that he has.
