Looking to try the LCHF as a last resort!
Hi all, I am a newbie. I would like to know the specifics of the low carb high fat diet, the induction phase and weight loss phase meals and what to eat at these stages, perhaps a meal plan for these stages if that's ok. Looking for a sustainable weight loss, and determination to see it thru this time

Pain and fatigue
Hi I have been diagnosed as a coeliac for 2 years now, I follow a strict gluten free diet, have the occasional problems with cross contamination when eating out. Over the past month I have been experiencing severe pain in my feet, muscles in my legs and wrist pain after being on my feet all day at work

How Do I Handle My Severe Stress?
I'm new here. My husband has diabetes and kidney disease with projected dialysis beginning in 2 to 4 years. What now
I have lost 4 stone in the past 18 months and got my blood sugar down to normal levels by cutting carbs increasing protein and fat... However, I have now been diagnosed with CHD which means no red meat and cutting down on white meat and low fat. My question is what do I eat now? Obviously LCHF is

Is it too soon to get excited?
Hi all, Further to my posts, desperately needing help, I was flooded with so much support and advice, all of which I have been following. Adjusting when I take my Levo, foods/drink and timings, gluten free diet, no soya etc hardly much change, but the difference I am feeling for the first time in over

Just can't make my mind up! Bad luck or RA -one of them is guilty.
After terrible upper abdominal pain over the weekend (a repeat of incident just before Xmas - put down to steroid induced gastritis) the suspision is that I have gallstones - and extreme pain is biliary colic (now waiting scan etc). Apart from being female I don't fit in the normal groups who are vulnerable

Inherited CKD
Hello, I was wondering if there is anyone on this forum with inherited CKD? My great grandmother, grandmother, uncle, aunt, and mother have had,or have passed away from complications from ckd. The only thing present in our family is the disease. There seems to be no underlying cause. I am 42 years old

CKD vs Diabetes Eating
Diagnosed with CKD stage 3 GFR 35 about a year ago. Also diabetic type 2 insulin dependent. Having trouble figuring out an eating plan. Nutritionist told me to ignore diabetes diet, nephrologist told me to follow diabetes diet but dont eat bananas, tomatoes and oranges. So confusing. Eating whatever

Antibodies and ultimate destruction of the thyroid
greygoose I have now been gluten free for nearly two years and my sole aim has been to reduce my antibodies (TPO >1300 and thyroglobulin antibodies 394). These have both gone down substantially on each of my last three blood tests. I have seen you say so many times that this is pretty well meaningless

Anyone had pelvic problems
Hi i am convinced that my pelvic/flank pain which is intermittent is because of adhesions from abdominal surgery 10years ago for a diep flap breast reconstruction. I seem to get it at random times, need pain killers and a hot water bottle.I have been sent by GP to have physiotherapy but doing pilates

Portion Sizes
Good evening all, I hope you're all having a good day 😊 I have a question. Do I need to worry about portion sizes with lchf? I do eat rather a lot 😬 I am wondering if this may hinder my progress? Your thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks.

Exercise dizzy
I thought it was just the motion of yoga, but have started skipping - same problem. Only did a minute and was so dizzy. I'm making sure I'm hydrated, etc. Is the low-carb killing my exercise ability?

Hi, can anyone recommend any high carbohydrate bars? Somebody in the health care profession recommends I should have high carbs in the morning and late at night, as its supposed to help my condition of cirrhosis. transglutaminase IgA levels
I am diagnosed Celiac. In June 2017 my Transglutaminase IgA levels were 1784.2 and are now just over 300 after 2 years plus. To be normal they should be under 20. I follow a strict gluten free diet but with the odd slip up so I wonder why my numbers don’t return to normal levels. Any answers?

Another post on low carb eating - theory and evidence
Well, at last, I'm impressed with the latest NHS diet advice, they've finally changed their tune and caught up with low carbs. As my hbA1c has gone up due to increased doses of Pred my GP is concerned I'm near Pre-diabetic levels. They have given me info on the NHS Healthier You programme and offered
