Well, at last, I'm impressed with the latest NHS diet advice, they've finally changed their tune and caught up with low carbs. As my hbA1c has gone up due to increased doses of Pred my GP is concerned I'm near Pre-diabetic levels. They have given me info on the NHS Healthier You programme and offered to refer me. As the nurse I saw last week was clueless about low carbs eg told me to eat plenty of fruit, I decided to look at the website to see what they advocate. Amazingly it is all about low carbs and there are some really useful, evidence-based articles on there as well as recipes, lifestyle articles etc. It mentions Prof Roy Taylor's work, busts myths. Well worth a browse:

Been low carb for years, it has gotten lax recently, bought Prof Roy's book but should know all of it. Still got diabetes and PR!!! Just wonder how bad I would be had I not been low carb etc!
Great forum here for diabetes

Very interesting. Thanks for including those links. Going to study them later.
Hi, this is the Course l started last week, it’s weekly for four weeks then once a month for 9 months. They weigh you every visit & take your height on the first visit, glad to say l was the Tallest in the Group but by no means the heaviest!
I’ve kept low carb, very low sugar for the last couple of weeks.
Great to hear. Have you noticed any difference eg reduced inflammation? I'm doing low-carbs already (the increase in hbA1c I'm sure is a blip as I was on a high dose of Pred for suspected GCA in Dec, which luckily turned out not to be). I'm wondering whether to go anyway, even though I already know what I should be doing, would you recommend it for group support etc?
Hi, no not really BUT I do feel less bloated for want of a better description from eating less Carbs.
But from the Angina point of view, l’m a bit low l suppose as that’s a bit concerning on top of everything else, l’m just waiting for my Rapid Access Appointment with the Cardiologist.
Keep us posted on your progress x
I am on the LCHF diet and it has put my type 2 into remission. I don’t think it has helped the PMR but I started it not long after diagnosis and my PMR may have been worse if I hadn’t gone on it.
It is good to see the NHS has caught up. My diabetic nurse was really happy for me to go on the diet and told me I was amazing when I went into remission.
I can tell when I have eaten more carbs than usual. Not severe really but definitely there,
Thanks. Very helpful link 🌺
