T4 / T3 causing significant glucose spike
Despite eating low carb and having normal fasting blood glucose in the morning, I been getting these wicked glucose spikes ***12 hours after my dose of T4 / 6 hours after my first dose of T3*** I can't determine which one is causing it yet, but it's been basically the same two days in a row. I take

Help with Keto
Hi everyone. I'm Paul from Birmingham. I'm new to this group. Following recent bloods (I have RA) my Rheumatology nurse called me and advised that I was pre diabetic. She told me about a low carb diet and sent me some information to get me started. I was quite alarmed by the diagnosis and decided to

Anyone going through DEIVF with an underactive thyroid?
I was recently diagnosed with an underactive thyroid (over 7) in Spain during the process of deivf. I'm from the UK and my GP wanted to repeat the tests and is confirmed thyroid is low and I'm now on medication. Has anyone had a similar experience going through DEIVF? Any successful stories? I'm also

My visit to a new MDS
I had a great 1st visit with a new MDS last week. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. To be honest, I am very pleased! The visit lasted over 3 hours one on one. He told me I have no symptoms of MSA or PSP, so he recommended against a DAtScan. He conducted a cognitive exam, found no evidence of

Tapering too fast? Advice needed please
I have found this site invaluable and until now haven't had the confidence to post anything. But I have reached an all time low over the past week and really need your help. I have completed my bio today which gives background info - it is a long story though! I have copied some of the info into this

Can T3 reduce thyroglobulin antibodies?
I was diagnosed in 2018 with Hashimoto's. Had Hypothyroidism since 2002. My thyroglobulin antibodies were over 4000 at diagnosis. Over the years I've slowly managed to reduce them by changing my diet, introducing T3 etc. My last blood test in September 2022 showed slightly elevated T3 levels so since

Does the low carb approach to eating also help the pain of PMR?
This was flagged in my Inbox today - and might account for why some people experience increased pain when they binge on "treats" after being on low carb eating for a while. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/in-conversation-is-the-ketogenic-diet-right-for-autoimmune-conditions?utm_source=Sailthru

T3 update for @relentless
Hidden this is for you, but all welcome thanks for remembering, after a few weeks switching from Teva to Aristo T4 125mcg I had a Roseway appointment and discussed a trial with the pharmacist prescriber. I now have their compounded lactose free capsules. The 5mcg daily prescription and 12 week

Alternatives to sugar
Hello, as some of you know from my DD posts, I've recently cut out added sugar in my diet. I do still eat things with natural sugar like fruit, but as I also follow a low carb diet they tend to be berries, which are lower in sugar anyway.Recently I've been wondering what to use instead of chocolate for

Is a Ketogenic diet actually beneficial for Kidneys
In the same way that eating eggs doesn't cause cholesterol is controlling your blood sugar, rather than a low protein diet key to reversing kidney damage? Ken Berry thinks so. Thoughts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QadlpylF-tw

Hi everyone!I am here, on this forum for my husband's CKD/proteinuria (all unexplained- kidney biopsy was "normal" as well as his genetic test). W2R1 - a wonderful morning
I was going to do this 'run' yesterday but I woke with a 'thick' knee, thick is probably a little bit of an incorrect description, more like tight/stiff, it normally clears when I've been up and about a little bit. Back to the purpose of this post, I headed downstairs, put the bin out and then went

So pleased
I was told I had NASH a year last October. As a result, I was sent for a Fibroscan and my kpa reading was 36.6. My liver image looked white with fat.I have type 2 diabetes, gall stones and a hiatus hernia. I was floored by the diagnosis and stressed so much. My anxiety level went through the roof. I

Dietary restrictions and the workplace...
Hi all,I am wondering what your experiences with working and your diet? My department got rewarded with a pizza party. I requested a salad to accommodate low sodium diet. I was told no special treatment. Won't be showing up to that lunch despite being the team lead. Thoughts? Am I being the unreasonable
