Amitriptyline added to assist with prednisone tapering : GCA patient diagnosed feb 2018
Hey everyone! I've been to see the specialist who advised I try taking 10mg of amitriptyline for pain associated with moderate steroid withdrawal. I'd have niggles of head ache and body aches all day--every day. It's been a week, and the medication is really helping. I'm surprised! Still have significant

Advice needed
Iv had to come off Prozac made me feel so ill. I just have 10mg if Amitriptyline at night. A friend of mine has had good results with St. John’s wort. Does anyone know if it’s safe to take during the day. With me having the other tablet at night. I know there’s certain things that don’t mix with St.

IBS without bowel symptoms?!
Hello 😊 I will try to keep it short but basically can you have IBS without bowel issues? I was thought to have endometriosis, I will list my symptoms down below if you want to read them. I had a laproscopy 4 weeks ago and all that was found was a distended large intestine so I've been told I have

Amitriptyline antidepressant for IBS
I am finally being referred to a dietician after my visit to the Doctor yesterday. I am happy with this as the chronic constipation and awful bloating is really getting me down. However he also prescribed me with Amitriptyline for IBS and depression. Looking up the side effects I'm not sure I want to

Timescale for levo at night
Hi I'm thinking of trying my levo in the evening. Would the timescale be 2 hours after meal with only water in between and then after an hour I could take my low dose amitriptyline? When having blood test would I then leave 36 hours?

Amitriptyline
Is anyone here on this? I’m having some sleep issues and my sister gave me low dose (10mg) to try !! I know, not the best idea but only 2 tablets 10mg each. Any experience/knowledge of this med in relation to af and apixaban. Google seems to indicate might cause palpitations but not clear.

Restless legs keeps coming back
My mum has suffered from rls since about 8 years, she's been on many medications and all will work for a while. Recently she was diagnosed with sleep apnea and was using cpap which made all her rls symptoms go away however after 2 months it has returned really bad. I took her to the gp and he has prescribed

Amitriptyline dosage for depression?
Hi. I have recently been prescribed 25 mg Tryptizol to treat my depression. I have been prescribed many other "newer" anti depressants, but they all came with very undesirable side effects, one of which nearly killed me? That was Lamictal. That gave me SJS and my face swelled up like a balloon, and

Fluoxetine - can it help IBS.
Hi I’ve been taking Amitriptyline 20mg daily for a year and saw improvement in my symptoms. I now need to change to Fluoxetine for other health reasons. Has anyone any experience of taking Fluoxetine? Has it helped your symptoms? Would you recommend? Thanks

Hi Ashy83, As a fellow migraine sufferer myself and a medic I can tell you that Amitriptyline is actually a antidepressant first and for most but is used for a number of other conditions, in low doses it is a valuble drug for helping to control pain levels in conjunction with other medications and in

Could less than 10 seconds of microsuction have caused noise damage?
I've had tinnitus since a family party in a hotel with live music in 2012. That was in October, but by Christmas it had quietened down and no longer caused me any distress. This summer it has increased slightly just by attending a couple of social events that weren't particularly loud. On 20th July

Park run enjoyed my run 😉
I’ve just ran my best ever at park run I took my time and I absolutely enjoyed it probably not my best time but I’m not bothered about that with my distance training it will come and over time my speed will so I’m happy and the hills are getting easier as today I was telling the guys how I was stressing

Natural Remedies/Help
Hi, I read a lot of the posts on here, but I rarely post anything myself. However, may I ask what natural remedies people take to help with their symptoms? Because of the length of time I was taking prescribed medications I had become unsure of the affect they were having on my body; plus after listening

Amitriptyline
Has any one been prescribed Amitriptyline for migranes. I have had an increase in aura migranes and the neurologist prescribed these to me. I have not started them yet but wondered if anyone else has tried them. It's a preventative medication not a pain killer

I have just been given Amitriptyline and have been told to wean myself off ropinerol and Gabapentin this week and then start the Amitriptyline. Does anyone know the best way to do this as I am dreading the change over.
