After a long wait, i finally went and saw an actual psychiatrist who through a series of questions has diagnosed me with a "textbook" case of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Its what i figured anyway going in so it wasnt a surprise. She has prescribed me 25mg amitriptyline for the first 3 or 4 days then

Medications to manage neuropathic pain
It's been a bit quiet on this forum recently. Everyone must be enjoying the spring. I've written a fair amount about my neuropathic pain in the past. I never took medication to help manage it until it started getting significantly worse about six months ago. So far this year, I've tried gabapentin (titrated

Hi I was only diagnosed a few months ago. My GP prescribed Amitriptyline and gave me a leaflet telling me there is no cure and he doesn't know why or how I got to this point. To tell I felt heart broken would be an understatement. I didn't know anything about this condition, I walked away thinking is

Recently diagnosed, halfway through treatment
Just want to relate my experience here, as all accounts seem to be useful. Symptoms started in February this year: what felt like a blocked nose. Exacerbated when eating and especially drinking alcohol. I had five visits to my clinic, seeing different GPs, and all suggested it was allergic and recommended

Anxiety controlling everything.
Hi everyone, I have been feeling really unwell lately and can't seem to take control on myself. I'm on 90mg Duloxetine everyday and I don't think they are enough to control my pains. Every morning I will wake up with a huge dull headache and dizziness that I can't control without taking an extra Amitriptyline

Confused about anxiety, depression and Lyrica.
I have been suffering for a long time now with severe PMS with which I'm being referred to a gynaecologist and severe anxiety with depression. I have always thought the main diagnosis was depression, and should be treated as such. But I saw my GP the other day and we had a good chat. My anxiety was through

Todays menu, calories, football tickets & a hospital visit....
Well today was a bit of a surprise, as I thought I'd be well over calories thanks to lunch out and a frangipane tart from Aldi which appeared with my afternoon cup of tea! It appears not! Here's what I ate: Breakfast: 2 cups of tea (38 cals) Lunch (pub): Flatbread stuffed with beetroot, goats cheese
