Hi, suffering from slipped disc L4-L5 which causes burning pain down my right leg and foot. Had injection of cortisone two months ago. Unfortunately it didn't work but a course of Predinsolone did, worked well but when I stopped the pain came back. Tried Lyrica 75mg high as a kite, lower dose of 10mg

How to discuss osteoporosis treatment with my doctors?
Guys, this is going to be a long one....I need help, but things are so complicated that I feel as if I'd better explain the background to this question fairly fully, so here goes; I saw my gp this week about treatment for osteoporosis. She & I have been discussing the many reasons for concern regarding

Hi Everyone, I hope that you are all doing. I have some questions, so please bare with me. How long does it take elevated AST and ALT levels to come down due to fatty liver? What about from a medicine reaction? Is there a difference? Here is why I ask. On February 8th of this year, I fell down

Amitriptyline for neuralgia
I've developed trigeminal neuralgia which is (literally) a real pain - not sure if its part of the lupus or just a coincidence but ... I'm on hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day and vitamin D supplements. Anyone got any experience of this and did it help? Thanks

Flare ups
Hi, I suffer from Chronic Pelvic pain syndrome, most of the time I am ok but I get flare ups so bad I can barely stand. I have been through gynae and urology investigations and it is not caused by IC or Endometriosis, My pain consultant says it is nerve related. I have tried amitriptyline, gabapentin

Attributing Pains...
As some of you know I'm waiting to see the neurologist in 12 days. In an effort to work out what might be making me feel dizzy and out of sync sometimes, I've gone cold turkey on the last of my drugs, Amitriptyline, and am not even taking the odd Zopiclone sleeping pill now either. I think I would

Which sleep &/or pain relief meds???
I used to sleep like a baby on Amitriptyline but ended up on 50mgs. I eventuallyweaned myself off it after 8 yrs because I'd gained 2 stone. Trazodone 100mgs helps my depression but it's useless for sleep. I'm now relying on sleeping pills every night and get about 7-8 hrs but the pain is just awful

New to rheumatoid arthritis area - advice on process for first steps please.
I was diagnosed as having a severely underactive thyroid in Jan this year and told that I would feel wonderful after six weeks on medication. I am still on 175mcg of levothyroxine and to cut a long story short, still feel unwell. Mainly muscle, joint pain in hands, elbows, feet and knees. My doctor

Has anyone taken Trazodone & Amitriptyline at the same time?
Hi, Been months since I've been on here, long story. Anyway, I've been on Trazodone 100mgs since May 2014 which is great for my depression and no weight gain, in fact I've lost weight & it reduces my appetite. However, it's not good for sleep. Initially it helped me go to sleep but I wasn't staying asleep

Medication not working after having baby
After years of many doctors appointments and trying many different types of medication, I finally found something that worked well for me. This was taking the Loestrin 20 pill 'back to back' for 3 months and also taking Mefenamic Acid and Tranexamic Acid to control the pain, this worked great for me

Alternative therapy
Hi everyone I had my first session of Bodytalk yesterday. This is an alternative therapy based on the theory that stresses etc can cause poor communication between the body's cells. It's non invasive and is just different tapping on parts of the body. The therapist was able to tell me things that she

20, Recent Diagnosis of FND and Very Confused
I am a 20 year old University student and I'm struggling dealing with this diagnosis. I've suffered from chronic middle ear infections for 6 years now, except last year I ended up with an inner ear infection which took 9 months to clear up. During this time I ended up having to move home and temporarily

Hi everyone I have posted a while back as I think I may have fibro. I have an underactive thyroid and my symptoms do not seem to respond to medication (i have tried several). I have always thought my symptoms were thyroid related but am now beginning to wonder. My symptoms are tender spots all over
