Alcohol - leflunomide & benepali

Does anyone know whether I can drink alcohol on this combo. I forgot to ask my Doc. I don't drink as a rule normally but I'm going on hols and really enjoy mojitos but I don't want to do anything thing which sets me back

I used to drink when I was on leflunomide and steroids. Just be careful and limit yourself to one drink, I doubt you will kill your liver while on holiday for one or two weeks.

I was told my pharmacist not to drink on lefunomide. I also love mojitos and find virgin mojitos are nice

Alcohol is not recommended when taking lefunomide due to the potential for liver toxicity. The NRAS pages have some information.

Don't drink large amount's of alcohol it could give you liver damage, you have enough to put up with, so don't add to it have a nice holiday

From a non medical professional point of view, the Benepali and alcohol is fine but the Leflunomide can adversely affect the liver, so combined with alcohol is not a great combination.

If you had one drink I’m sure it would be fine but don’t underestimate your treatment and it’s importance , you should do everything in your power to support this.
