Looking for advice on Amitriptyline withdrawal

I’ve been taking 10mg Amitriptyline for just over a year now to prevent my migraines, although it worked it has left me feeling constantly tired and messed up my sleep. Last week I decided to go and get a daith piercing after reading about how it can stop migraines. Confident that it would work I stopped taking my tablets about 9 days ago and haven’t had a migraine in that time. However I have been feeling quite weird since stopping the Amitriptyline, especially today where I’m feeling light-headed, nauseous and extremely tired. Is this possibly withdrawal symptoms? I did just stop taking it suddenly but have previously been only taking it every other day and it’s such a low dose. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this. Thanks in advance.

Suggest you consult your GP for a very gradual withdrawal plan, and to check your symptoms are not the result of anything else.

It’s an awful drug. I was like a zombie with dementia on 25mg. Came off it after 9 months as it had stopped working

Hi Poppy17815

I was on a 10 mg dose and that made me zombie in the morning when I took it before I went to bed so I took it after work at about 3pm every other day then gradually came off them as I was getting a lot of head and ear and nasal pressure the doctor has now put me on antihistamine so far promising
