Omeprazole use
In the 80s I had serious ulcer issues resulting in major
surgery
and had Omeprazole been around then that would not of happened. Acid reflux can cause idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis which I also have and this is terminal. If you can get used to the Omeprazole great you won't regret it.

gallbladder removal
I wasn’t given a diet/fact sheet when I was discharged from day
surgery
last week so have been googling but there is such differing advice. Every time I eat anything now, I have terrible upset stomach, stomach pains and feel nauseous and faint.

Recently diagnosed and now awaiting

to remove lower lung. I feel very anxious and would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this.

PSA post Salvage Radiation
Prior post: My husband, at diagnosis had 3+4 on a couple of samples and chose to have
surgery
. He had clean margins and reached undetectable PSA after Prostatectomy. Near the end of 5th year after
surgery
his PSA became detectable. He did salvage radiation at .09 PSA.

Test results and lowered levo
By chance the following week I had routine TFTs booked at my GP
surgery
which returned the following results (fasting at 8.40am): TSH: 0.3 (0.4-4.9) T4: 14.7 (9-19) T3: 4 (2.4-6) My dose has still been lowered to 75mcg (on the basis of the TSH being slightly suppressed).

Finally got flu vax!
After 4+ months of waiting told 'on the list' many times, nurse from gp
surgery
came. Says don't know what district nurses are doing lately. 🤷♀️ Also gave me pneumonia vax- never had or been offered before🤔 No Covid as run out. Can I sue if I contract Covid or is it all forgotten about now?

Swap from 4mg pred
Ironically I’ve since read that with such major
surgery
the doctor should have increased the pred dosage as a matter of course. I am apparently being booked in for SSTest at some point. At this stage I have no idea whether I should expect to have the hydrocortisone tapered as with prednisolone.

Mirena and Exercise
I had mines fitted in November after
surgery
so it might still be settling but I have noticed a pattern that I bleed after I’ve been horse riding - every time now (I have lessons once a week). And with this bleed I do have some mild cramping.

Aortic valve replacement
Good morning , I’m now on the waiting list at Papworth for
surgery
following my latest echo and review with my cardiologist. I note from his letter to the hospital that he has recommended a valve replacement with LAA exclusion .

Epilepsy resulting from surgery to temporal lobe
Surgery
in 1989 showed they were benign epidermoid cysts which were removed. However, the craniotomy triggered epilepsy.... infrequent daytime absences and regular nocturnal seizures. Absences were quickly controlled with AED medication, but took 10 years to find clobazam.

carbo/gem
I was diagnosed high grade stage 3c peritoneal in Autumn 2021, I have had carbo/taxol/avastin, debulking
surgery
. Followed by avastin alone which did not work, then carbo/caelyx which worked very well. I have had just over a year on Niraparib but sadly it is no longer working.
