Surely this must be a mistake. I hope you get it sorted quickly.

It is a mistake but they don’t know why! I have a hunch it’s not a GP doing the repeats just signing them off and an associate doctor may not be licensed to prescibe it.Of course that’s just a hunch but we now have associate doctors and clinical pharmacist able to prescribe. I assume the GPs do read the requests but the “clinician” l spoke to didn’t know it was prescribed by a consultant. I did say shall I write in again…… so let’s see next month as I’ve contacted hospital and my bloods are good.

These days we all have to be on the ball don't we? I hope it is sorted quickly for you.

My consultant told me to stop one med for a couple of months in case it was causing nausea.. I told GP pharmacy I wouldn’t be ordering it for a couple of months ….they seemed to understand & take notice but …when it was found it wasn’t the culprit of my nausea I ordered it again. GP said “we didn’t prescribe it so we can’t restart it” so I had to get my Rheumatologist to write another letter to say, I was starting the drug again.

I’m getting fed up with GPs…..moaning about how busy they are…when they are making work for themselves.

Here even Econsult is on hold as the GPs are helping in hospital. Not sure if it’s true but allegedly it’s to do with junior doctors strike. But I’d like to go back to just sit and wait. But on the up they are now doing ring back on an upgraded phone system. No more 90 minutes of greensleeves ! And a lot of us complained about cost of phone calls to GP to correct their errors like items left off prescriptions and failure to look at blood results so requesting us to contact them to say look at records! Inside information is also that staff said they got fed up as the single line they had was stupid for thousands of patients. And the fury of patients holding on for hours was unaccountable as phone count down was inaccurate. So it said 9 in front when the caller waited an hour. I just hope that the government actually sorts this whole farce out.

Try looking up your GP practice online the waffle is unbelievable

I know we on the internet have 15 doctors but in full time hours it’s 3! No wonder hospitals are overrun. The practice is huge across 4 sites but 2 are closed and impossible to access without a car as miles off the bus route. Elderly are told to get a taxi or ask a neighbour for a lift. This situation is the result of years of underfunding and training. Goodness knows where it will end as things are getting worse every day. I fear for the future of the NHS. Perhaps they should now get things done in the private sector to get things sorted in the short term, buying time to rethink the cradle to grave and free at point of contact we have at the moment.

Even getting Private appointments these days takes a long time. Our local Nuffield is taking NHS Patients & has waiting lists for beds for private surgical cases. Despite people thinking doctors who do private work are depriving NHS patients…..they have to work their contracted NHS hours each month before they can do Private work. Frighteningly….an awful lot of Senior Doctors are due for retirement….all that experience lost…..where will we be then?

I heard a retired doctor being interviewed this afternoon…..he was asked in his day..probably in the 1960’s what Med students were thinking as they came up to qualifying…He said “which field of medicine they were aiming for” And Now? He said “They are all applying for jobs in Australia”

If that continues - surely….no matter how unpopular the Government who bites the bullet…..Med students will have to work for this country for X amount of years after qualifying…..or contract to pay back a proportion of their tuition?

It defies belief in all areas how little old Britain spends tax payers money…£8m a day on hotels for illegal immigrants….whilst we have ex servicemen who have served our country…sleeping rough on the streets. Sadly,I can’t see things improving any time soon.
