Vertigo
I was given procolperazine (stemetil) as well. Made a huge difference as betahistine wasn’t doing a thing.
I've had stemetil before and it helped a bit not completely. It's worth enquiring about.
Whilst medication is helpful in the short term, taken long term it can be less so, as it can stop the rehabilitation that the vestibular exercises aim to encourage. It is a difficult condition to manage and the decision to use medication or not is a personal choice. A low salt, low caffeine, low sugar and low alcohol diet is beneficial and drinking lots of fluids is important too. I guess it boils down to if the vertigo is a temporary problem or a long term one. The exercises need to be done every day and step by small step in increasing difficulty - they can take several weeks for real progress to be felt. A physio specialising in vestibular rehabilitation is the best person to see for this if it is a long term problem as they can guide you and pick which exercises are best for you.
I have found that no caffeine really helps, good luck
Long term idea - chi gong or tai chi are good for sensing your body and helping with stability. Not an instant solution but worth pursuing.
I have been prescribed Prochlorperazine to stop nausea caused by dipping BP (Orthostatic hypotension) however I think it’s caused by vestibular issues rather, however the meds do work for me. Good luck
