Surgery

There are only three doctors in the surgery. I had issues with the other doctor when I requested a Ferritin test last year. Please can you give me some help with this.

November 2023, I went into hospital for surgery.

I have refused surgery as the worst case senario is a slight limp and developing arthirits. Has anyone else had similar. I am going crazy with worry. Best wishes, Dawn

All went well, except for pain after the procedure, pain probably related to scarring from previous surgery in that area. On 6 mg pred atm. I didn't take extra pred. The hospital were fairly relaxed about it and I have been fine so far with other minor procedures while I have been on pred.

I believe that you as a carer you should be getting the jabs for flu and covid from your GP irrespective of age, and if it's appropriate a hepatology specialist nurse at the hospital can let the surgery know what's needed to reduce the risk to you and the person you are caring for.

I will most probably be having keyhole surgery through the abdomen to pull up the bowel and fix to pelvic area. This is reassuring that it will get sorted. But I am living on laxatives and diet changes to keep me from getting blocked. Sorry for essay but just so relieved

Surgery was successful. Now waiting two months and then check PSA and Testosterone. Still hormone sensitive, but no further Lupron required. Looking forward.

Just got back from hospital, This is the lady who will keep me asleep during surgery, Lovely woman, All my tests came back clear (apart from the other known things) She said because of my oxygene the way it is , (when I sleep my oxygene levels are not good at all ) They want to admit me the day before

In 2009 I had surgery to create what is called a J pouch, which is made from approximately the last 40cm of terminal ileum. Current issues. Recent blood tests, ordered by my colorectal surgeon/consultant, show l have low TSH (0.06) and normal T4.

I was at at previous Gp surgery successfully taking topimax for my on sudden severe epilepsy which happened suddenly over a period of time beginning with eye disturbance chances in colours when looking at thinks.

I was put on Amiodarone for 4 weeks post surgery last September. So Amiodarone was stopped 7 months ago. I was on 3 3/4 grains of Armour Thyroid for Hypothyroidism before surgery. Been stable for years on this dose. 16yrs on NDT.

Tried to get onto Wikipedia where I thought my longevity as happened here get people who have had bypass surgery to look ahead with more confidence.However they said no because of self interest, how else do they get their stories in some cases?

Yea had my appointment last week with my AN specialist assistant to get the most unusual news I have ever heard, they started off my going through how long ago my Surgery was which is just over 14years ago them mentioned it was just over 12years ago that I had Radiotherapy, so he explained what the Radiotherapy

My 72 year old husband had radical, robotic surgery 7 years ago. PSAs were 0 until 2 years ago, then barely detectable. Had the special PET scan, 3 spots lit up in lymph nodes, (in the area, none remote.) Had 6.5 weeks radiation therapy. Had 2 years of Lupron/Zytiga/steroid.

She was totally horrified at the lack of care I've had from my gp surgery, similarly no asthma review at surgery for 3 yrs) I have, apparently got very long lungs and an enlarged trachea, nobody told me that before!

Have been diagnosed today with severe endo and endometrioma and awaiting surgery.

I had 3 chemos, then successful surgery, then 2 more chemos. My final one was meant to be today but my bloods were low so its put back a week which has left me feeling deflated as everything so far has gone to plan & I just want to get it done, but ofcourse I have to be safe.

Got a phone call from the surgery to say my GP will ring me in 3 weeks to see how I'm getting on. Chased up the respiratory clinic to see when I might get my first appointment. Now got one for end of September.

I had my surgery last Tuesday so 1 week today! When they went in for the surgery the cyst was gone (I couldn’t believe it when she told me!) It had burst & dispersed itself so the surgeon cleaned up the pelvis. She also removed endometriosis from both of my ovaries & the left pouch.
