Melatonin vs amitriptylene
I've been on amitriptylene for 20 years, mostly at the 25 mg dose. Last year I had breast cancer and during the entire chemo, then surgery, then radiation phase (about 9 months) I did not have one migraine. Two weeks after this was all done, I began experiencing migraines about every 2-3 days for at

Anyone else been prescribed Co-beneldopa for RSL?
Hi all, I hope you are all as well as can be. As per the thread title has anyone else been prescribed Co-beneldopa for RLS, as I have just been. I have been trying to get by without extra meds, as I take enough for my fibromyalgia & other things, but it was proving to be a fight I couldn't win so after

Anyone here familar with rapamycin
My doctors are planning to subscribe rapamycin also known as Sirolimus. Mainly because it seems to give good results with aPL antibodies. Is the use of this medication familar to anyone? It is sometimes used, or more often? And are there any knownresults? At this time I have considerable inflammation

Musculosceletal pain even after TKI treatment
I thought that this might have relevance to those of us in the future who may be discontinuing ibrutinib. This article was about another TKI imatinib, but it is worth noting here since it seems to occur in 30% of patients: [i]Discontinuation of therapy is being explored in patients with chronic myelogenous

Mental health therapists come in all shapes and sizes........
I wrote this post (very long!, sorry) as I wanted to share my thoughts in the terms of what I class as qualified therapists for mental health. Its something I agree we all need no matter what are problems are, yet over the years both seeking help and then having to try and open-up to someone who is

Looking at the stars
Here's a wee quest for you. All you have to do is look at the stars. You might feel silly, you might wonder why or if you are doing it right. That's fine, just look at the stars and let these thoughts happen, don't pay any attention to them, just let them drift away . Do your breathing exercises, feel

Tertiary Hypothyroidism
You hear a lot about Primary and even Secondary hypothyroidism but very little about Tertiary hypothyroidism. Has anyone on here been diagnosed with it or had any Hypothalamic Dysfunction recognised?

Modafinil/Provigil tablet to improve cognitive/memory enhancer
Hi all I was surfing the web last night looking for something to do with brain injury and I came across the above drug, which reports to be a memory enhancer and stops feeling sleepy. The generic name is Modafinil, pharmaceutical name Provigil. It states this is for narcolepsy and shift worker disorders

I saw a Cardiologist this week. Seems I may have a complication due to another complication of PSP. I'd appreciate feedback.
For those who've been following my posts, some of this is old info; for the benefit of newer caretakers/persons with PSP, I'm going to briefly refer to the complication of PSP I was diagnosed with May of 2013. My Doc (a Neuro) surprised me with a referral for a sleep study. Sleep apnea was the furthest

3rd opinion
I went to Davis for my 3rd opinion and he wants more data. Then wants to see me in about a month again. For some reason, my glands are NOT nearly as big as they were in June. (can stress make then HUGE? Because they were really big in June and that's really the only difference between June & July
