Modafinil/Provigil tablet to improve cognitive/memory enhancer

Hi all I was surfing the web last night looking for something to do with brain injury and I came across the above drug, which reports to be a memory enhancer and stops feeling sleepy. The generic name is Modafinil, pharmaceutical name Provigil. It states this is for narcolepsy and shift worker disorders. You can purchase tablets online from US. I wondered if this would help with my fatigue and memory problems. Have anybody heard of this drug? Have you tried it? I would of course check with my doctor first, but would try anything to improve my fatigue and memory problems. Any thoughts?

I have found a user of this forum about a year ago and tHey have been prescribed the above drug by their NEUROLOGIST . person stated it 'made them more awake' Which is great. Downsize is my neurologist has discharged me as he says there is no further treatment for me he can perform.

IF THIS PROVES TO BE REALLY EFFECTIVE I WOULD TRY IT. ANYTHING THAT HELPS WOULD BE GOOD. MY MEMORY IS SO RUBBISH & I'D LOVE TO GET THROUGH THE DAY WITHOUT HAVING TO NAP.
