Prof Bas Bloem's Zoom presentation on “What type of exercise is best for people with PD?" - Recording available
Exercise should be taken ideally 3 x a week for 30 minutes at a rate that makes you "pant but still able to talk", a level that all PwP can find regardless of their
fitness
.

Best fitness watch?
Hi, can anybody recommend a (reasonably inexpensive) watch for tracking my runs, please? My 5yo fitbit has finally failed and I need a replacement, to avoid relying totally on my phone apps. I have a Samsung phone, if that helps at all. Thank you. Rob

Improving your fitness in persistent A-fib
I feel like the best approach is to build strength, as strength is a form of
fitness
. A sub-question is - does exercise get easier if you get "fitter"? Does a heart in a-fib respond in that way?

re; statins. Follow Up.
I can now fall back to sleep at night after I awake and my overall
fitness
has improved ( golf three days a week 😎). as my original post that’s the first step now doctor recommended pravastatin 10mg dose for two months. Will then check bloods and general health.

Another short run of just 3k
I can certainly tell I have lost
fitness
over the last couple of months. It was a misty morning and pleasently cool as I left the house for my warm-up walk. Tech behaved today and I just followed the NRC 3k run for a change .

Diagnosing early cirrhosis / fibrosis / ALD
Fatigue and anxiety has grown significanlty over the past six months, as has my cardiovascular
fitness
. My stools are often more yellow-brown than dark brown. Never had jaundice, ascities, etc. In early March, after quite a lot of drinking in December to February, I did my first blood test.

Pretty chuffed
I’m so happy that I have a level of
fitness
back again and I am really looking forward to increasing the distance. My pace is very slow (I had to run for 38 minutes to reach 5K) but I have always been about the running experience and the distance rather than speed.

CATCH- up- CORNER... JANUARY WEEK 3...Slip off your shoes...Come on in...
Your level of
fitness
is as unique, as you are. Some runners here will find running Week 9 as easy as running Week 1, some, (hopefully not) , but maybe, the reverse; some, after graduation will choose to go on to 10K, Half Marathons and beyond.

last run of the program
I love the headspace and the
fitness
! I feel less achy and feeling more energetic. It’s the best thing I’ve done for me , I now have caught the running bug and want to run further , I went on a run yesterday and extended my running time by 5 minutes, and ran 5.5 km .

W6R3!!!! 🎉🤓🏃♂️
Thanks for all the posts guys and gals, I read great advice about stamina and
fitness
loss etc and decided I was okay to give W6R3 a go and take it really easy see how I felt. It's a beautiful morning here in Yorkshire, clear skies, the chirp of birds, a cool breeze...what's not to love!?

W5R3 - DONE! 🥳
When the
fitness
studio closed during the first "lock-down" in spring 2020, I started speed walking outside and gradually increased my pace (here we never really had lock-downs... folks were just calling them that...).
