Plant sterols any one take as..alternative to statins with good results?
Thinking along these lines with plant sterols. My cholesterol is within normal range, but thinking as a precaution. I eat healthily, no red meat for 35yrs plus, very little processed, weight good (thanks to chuffing gastritis!! ) . I have started on Benecol milk and margarine, ( hardly eat butter

I lost 35lbs in 2023-2024 but have been plateauing for a while. I started the diet due to high blood pressure and I've seen my blood pressure reduce from 140/90 to 120/80. I am now on a low carb diet recommended by my GP and am enjoying the recipes available. I have cut out all starchy foods: bread

Has anyone tried this diet regime?
My husband was diagnosed with NAFLD about two years ago. Recently his readings and scans have deteriorated and he was told he had to lose some weight, change his diet etc. He has lost just over a stone in about 6 weeks but it has now slowed down and has made him somewhat disheartened. He tells me he

Withdrawal bleed after egg collection
Hi all, I had an egg collection on Wednesday 10th July. They mentioned that I should have a withdrawal bleed between 5-7 days if it’s any later it crosses into the similar time frame as my period is due. I took Buserelin as my trigger. Can anyone explain if this would the beginning of a new cycle

raised HbA1c
I told my GP I hadn’t had any bloods done for well over a year when I went regarding a skin problem. She only ordered FBC and HbA1c. Unfortunately no ESR or U&E’s. I’m a bit upset as HbA1c gone up to 50 which puts me in diabetic realm. I try to keep carbs low but ‘could do better’. Just had message

Tired of colitis
I first was diagnosed with proctitis when I was about 20 but the doctor prescribed a sedative, believing it was stress related. After that I had about 4 or 5 flare ups over the course of the next 50 years, not having been officially diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis until 12 years ago. Mostly I tried

Hot weather intolerance - pmr, Pred or old age?
In a previous life - pre PMR - I was a real sun worshipper, loving every moment I could spend outside no matter how hot. Mediterranean holidays in the mid 30s were the best days of my life. I now seemed to have turned into my Mother who used to complain it was ‘far too hot’ the minute the temperature

Long post update (tube feeding)
Thank you for your replies, I am grateful for all of them! I couldn't do this the right way. :( On Friday afternoon I had to call the ambulance because she was having trouble breathing, she's in hospital now. I'm there with her as much as I can, but she was much better on Friday than she was today.
