My Experience in Controlling Blood Sugar Levels

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my personal experience in maintaining stable blood sugar levels throughout the day. Over the past few months, I've implemented several strategies that have significantly helped me manage my blood sugar. Here are the key things I do:

Avoid White Sugar: I completely cut out white sugar from my diet. Studies have shown that high sugar intake can lead to significant spikes in blood glucose levels, even in healthy individuals.

Eat Only During Main Meals: I avoid snacks between meals. This helps prevent unnecessary blood sugar spikes that can occur from frequent eating.

Drink Lemon Juice Before Meals: I drink lemon juice before my meals. Research suggests that the acidity in lemon juice can help lower the glycemic response of the meal that follows.

Consume Low-Sugar Vegetables Before Meals: Eating vegetables with a low glycemic index before a meal can slow down the absorption of sugars from the subsequent foods, thus maintaining a more stable blood sugar level.

Eat Protein First: I always start my meal with protein. This practice can help moderate post-meal blood sugar levels as proteins are digested more slowly, preventing rapid spikes in blood sugar.

Choose Low or Medium Glycemic Index Carbohydrates: I select carbohydrates that are low or medium on the glycemic index. These foods cause a slower and lower rise in blood sugar compared to high glycemic index foods.

Take Dietary Supplements: Occasionally, I take dietary supplements that include ingredients like fig leaf extract and berberine, which have been shown to help regulate blood sugar levels.

By following these steps, I have managed to keep my blood sugar levels within a healthy range. I hope some of these tips might be useful to others as well.

Hi amubra , Welcome to the forum.

Your post is useful but its too generic.

Please share your numbers (hba1c, fasting blood sugar, post prandial) before and after you have incorporated the changes suggested.
