25th Park Run!
I couldn't walk til I was 4, have had 3 hip replacements and back
surgery
. I never ran before I was 69 and now I've done 25 Park runs. I'm feeling very proud of myself. I even knocked a minute off last week's time! It was a glorious morning. I just took it steady and enjoyed it.

After ADT
My 72 year old husband had radical, robotic
surgery
7 years ago. PSAs were 0 until 2 years ago, then barely detectable. Had the special PET scan, 3 spots lit up in lymph nodes, (in the area, none remote.) Had 6.5 weeks radiation therapy. Had 2 years of Lupron/Zytiga/steroid.

Blood test results - best practice
The hospital provide labels, the tests are done at my
surgery
and the results are sent to the hospital. The overworked team there are reluctant to share the results and my
surgery
say they cannot see them. I understand that this may be because the computer systems are not compatible.

Completely ineffective for me and it took a bout of covid in new year to seriously infect my chest and lungs , I had to go to our local pop in
surgery
where the nurse immediately re-instated the ventolin with a letter to my gp to that effect . My improvement was incredible .

Wife of Newly Diagnosed Husband - PSMA questions
Everyone is saying the tests so far suggest the cancer is contained and
surgery
is the best option, but why wouldn’t you do a PSMA scan to confirm as best you can? I would be interested in hearing about others people’s experiences in a case like this.

Laparoscopy clear - what now?
Thanks for the pre-
surgery
advice on my previous post. I had my laparoscopy around 2 weeks ago on the 20th March. It was an uncomplicated procedure and I was found to have a normal pelvis with no evidence of endometriosis. Obviously I am so relieved to be told this.

Epilepsy resulting from surgery to temporal lobe
Surgery
in 1989 showed they were benign epidermoid cysts which were removed. However, the craniotomy triggered epilepsy.... infrequent daytime absences and regular nocturnal seizures. Absences were quickly controlled with AED medication, but took 10 years to find clobazam.

hernia surgery options after Sbrt?
Only option was old school open
surgery
, with a longer recovery and higher risk of chronic pain. This seems wrong. Any input/experience would be appreciated.

4 years to a correct diagnosis of Perineal Prolapse.
After 4 years with my pelvic floor issue & a failed sacrocolpopexy
surgery
in 2022, I had to attend A&E in January 2024 in a lot of pain. In February 2024 I was finally gifted a MRI scan. A san they should of referred me for in 2020.

Vocal chord damage in thyroidectomy
I accept there are risks with
surgery
but I dread to think what would have happened if my thyroid had continued to grow, the risks would have been greater I feel.
