hi, David K and really interesting posts , I am 77 this year and my reliever inhaler was changed last year with no consultation from Ventolin to Salamol it might be labelled good for environment but I found no comparison to ventolin . From 1 ventolin lasting upto 2 years I got through almost 3 salamol in a year!! Completely ineffective for me and it took a bout of covid in new year to seriously infect my chest and lungs , I had to go to our local pop in surgery where the nurse immediately re-instated the ventolin with a letter to my gp to that effect . My improvement was incredible .

Both ventolin evo and Salamol have the same propellant but Salamol also has ethanol - not in ventolin. The Ventolin evo inhaler is a much better device than the other and I’m glad you’ve got it back.
Hi ! if your not happy with the inhaler tell your consultant/Dr/Nurse and tell them you want to go back on Ventolin, my inhaler was changed last year ,,,and within3 months i was back on my old inhaler , don’t take a substitute if it’s not better than your old one .
I had the same problem, in fact it felt like my asthma got way worse than when ventolin was used to rescue an asthma attack. I also tasted awful. There has got to be something else in that inhaler, it's not fit for purpose.
Hello! I'm so pleased you're ventolin has been reinstated. It's been the same for many many members in having useful ventolin replaced with Salamol. Very annoying.
I shared a post today with a link to email the producers of salamol
