Scoliosis Surgery at 75
I finally went through the Scoliosis
Surgery
that I had scheduled and canceled a couple of times. I had been on Buprenorphine for over a year and was RLS free. The minute I woke up from my
surgery
, that ugly monster showed up again. This time I could not even move, much less walk.

Difficulty in getting bone scan results
I have been checking my NHS app for the actual results but they've not been added so yesterday I called in the
surgery
and asked for the results.

Bowel Resection - what to expect?
I've been advised that this
surgery
could have a negative impact on my fertility, which surprised me - does anyone know how likely this is? I'm doing a round of IVF as a precaution before the
surgery
. How difficult is it to work/do normal activities with a temporary colostomy bag? Thanks!

treatment without surgery
It’s my mum that has ovarian cancer stage 4, had 6 rounds of chemo then
surgery
- however the surgeon couldn’t operate as there was too much cancer to remove. My question is, has anyone had the same happen to them and have you been able to carry on with treatment? Thanks Hollie

surgery with doctor with bad patient review
have
surgery
coming up and my doctor just got a 1 star review on google by a patient. The patient wrote that he doesnt listen and doesnt think outside the box so she switched doctors. Should I be worried? Is it dangerous to have
surgery
with him? He is a consultant at guys st thomas London.

Has anyone on long term thyroid meds had open-heart cardiac repair
surgery
? Any ideas as to whether it affects thyroid and any need to up/ lower T4/T3 meds? Any reflections/suggestions would be most welcome.

My husband had s heart bypass in December 2023 and had a low platelet count prior to

B12 supplied at GP Surgery
Hello, for the last 6 months or so my GP has been supplying the B12 vials for injecting at the
surgery
. Previously I picked up a script and got the vials myself from the pharmacy.

Struggling after surgery & with political climate
I had
surgery
on my legs a little over a week ago and have been recovering at home since. I've gotten really depressed and am having anxiety, especially after watching the political news and reading about everyone's worst fears on social media regarding the outcome of the US election.

Post following my first consultation
I've never had
surgery
or been to hospital myself before so it's all a bit daunting! How did people find the
surgery
? Anything I should know before making the decision to move forward with this? Thank you all x

Open heart surgery
We discussed my AF , the effects of
surgery
on episodes after and anticoagulants . Interestingly they stated that oral anticoagulants reduce the risk of stroke by 60/70% on average for those with AF . Additional to my valve being replaced they will exclude the Left Atrial Appendage using a clip .

Leflunomide and surgery..
I’m having
surgery
next Wednesday on my right foot for Morton’s neuroma (had left foot excision 6 months ago). At the pre-op the nurse had never heard of Leflunomide and had to google it as to whether it needs to be ceased pre-
surgery
. She couldn’t find definitive answer so contacted my surgeon.
