what should I do next?
I can’t imagine just going out there and
running
. I seem to need the voice in my ear and I still feel weird about maybe doing parkrun alone….. any thoughts please?

consolidation?
At the moment I’m
running
at snails pace and usually feel I could go a bit further but don’t. Any advice please?

So glad I went out - plus side of suburban pavement
running
in the dark at this time of year. Thousands of twinkly lights ✨️✨️✨️ to guide my way and a un-phased fox. Happy New Year to everyone on HU 🥳

Weekly chat 7-13 Jan; what a difference a day makes ... ☕🍪🫖🌞
So how's your
running
going? Plenty of mud and puddles ... with a bit of sunshine perhaps? Or is
running
off your agenda right now? However it's going - and do let us know in the chat below - I hope the sun shines on you this week and you get a chance to appreciate at least one 'really great day'.

6 months on!
At the time of writing, I’ve reached Week 6 Run 2 since beginning of December but I’m not ready to move to run 3 (25 minutes of
running
). I’ve gained fitness, energy and motivation whilst losing 2 dress sizes along the way!

Reassurance
He and the others I have spoken to have been
running
for 7 or more years etc and one woman, who regularly runs 10K and more has a 5K time of around 23mins or so (definitely 50mins ish for a 10K), but again she has been
running
most of her life and is at least 12 years or so younger than me.

Running with a 7 month old cocker spaniel
Everyone says, get a dog, and get fit..... it's the other way round for me, I take the dog for long walks, but it's so, so slow and doesn't work off his energy, and I'm actually gaining weight!!! My average resting pulse has increased from 58/59 to 62. And I miss my long fast walks and runs. For

NRC 10k plan week 2: long run
What probably helped was Coach B's first question: what piece of
running
advice has been most helpful? Obviously the bit about slowing down.

Layering in the Cold
So, some of you are familiar with my fairly ridiculous
running
gear (full-on vintage basketball tops and shorts, you can’t make it up), and that calls for some careful layers.

I actually did it! 5k in 30 mins
I graduated C25K last year and have been
running
pretty consistently since. Did my 1st 10k this summer but the holy grail of 5k in 30 mins has managed to elude me until today! I didn’t set out for it but just set myself the goal of
running
consistently strong the whole 5k.

NRC 10k plan, run 3
I thought I'd just throw myself into it and really run in the
running
bits and gently walk in the recovery bits. And surprisingly I loved it. It was so good to be out that after lunch I suggested to Ian that we went out and walked my
running
route together.

A tragic but inspiring and heartwarming story about someone running to raise money for PMRGCAuk after a friend lost her sight from GCA
A big thank you to James Robinson who's
the Leeds Marathon in support of Kate, a family friend, who lost her sight due to giant cell arteritis.
Help James raise money to support people with PMR and GCA. Help us to raise awareness so that no-one loses their sight from this disease.

A ‘Fun Beyond 10k’ type of run…🙂🏃♀️
Perfect
running
weather here today, so out for my Easter Sunday long run late morning. I ran a mixture of road and trail today. The Downslink and footpaths were still very waterlogged in places and the local clay-based soil here means that it can be really slow to drain and very sticky!

Spectacular disasters - only for fun
I was
running
on a very narrow track between two fields on a cold, dry autumn morning. The autumn leaves were crisp and dry and completely hid a tree root that crossed the path.
