I actually did it! 5k in 30 mins

I graduated C25K last year and have been running pretty consistently since. Did my 1st 10k this summer but the holy grail of 5k in 30 mins has managed to elude me until today!

I didn’t set out for it but just set myself the goal of running consistently strong the whole 5k.

I didn’t look at my pace because as well as running strong I wanted to just enjoy the lovely autumn run.

I thought I was doing well about halfway in but again concentrated on strong and even strides as well as enjoying my music. (Running to good music beats really helps)

Lo and behold 5k and Mr Strava says the magic words ….blah blah 5k….. 30 mins!

I did a happy dance in my garden with Miley C and feel very chuffed.

I have been doing longer runs and playing with speed for faster sections and of course slow runs so I think this has helped.

However keep at it and mostly enjoy. Anything is possible! ❤️🏅🏃🏼‍♀️

Congratulations on running your first 5K in under 30 minutes, "the holy grail" as you call it, onwards and upwards running a 10K in just under 60 minutes, the nearest I have got to running 5K to that 'holy grail' is 30:09, that was at parkrun around two years ago, so no chance ever on me running 5K sub 60 minutes.
