As Halloween approaches, it’s time to wave your wands, sorry pompoms, to cast your finest magical successful running spells and conjure up some race magic!
Right now we only have one runner, and that’s the fabulous 🏃♀️ Fiadh79 🏃♀️ She’ll be running her first 5k race in many years on Saturday 28th October, the Hubble Bubble 2023 - letsdothis.com/gb/e/hubble-... -
This is an entirely flat, out-and-back route along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and finishers will receive not only a medal, but also homemade cakes and Halloween treats. Let’s hope that despite its name the race stays free from double trouble, thunder, lightning and rain!
Have lots of fun, and don’t forget to let us have your race report!
Anyone else got a racing event this weekend and fancy a pompom cheer? Then please let us know by replying asap to this post, and we’ll add you to the list.
Wow, thank you so much everyone! I've had such a crazy Friday that I didn't manage to respond at all. But when I was getting about 3/4 of the way through and finding it a bit harder I remembered the support I was getting from here and it was a lovely thought 😁😁😁
I really enjoyed it, which is probably the most important thing for the first 5k, and I finished smiling and upright. I don't know my time yet but I'm expecting to be a little disappointed. I was hoping to do it in under 35 minutes but I don't think I managed that (I foolishly decided not to record anything on my watch so have no idea, and also had no idea during the race! ) Unfortunately at one point my phone and credit cards fell out of my belt! So I had to run back and get it! (I've lost quite a bit of weight this year and I suspect it's too big for me now.) But other than that it went very smoothly and I am now sat down with my cup of tea and my cake!
