Do I have COPD?
I am a former heavy smoker, I
quit
6 years ago. Even before I started
smoking
I have always been quite a heavy breather and always struggled with breathing during exercise, though I was never diagnosed with asthma or any other condition.

Aches aches and more aches
Basically I am trying to
quit
smoking
. I have been smoking for about 4 years plus. One pack usually lasts me 2 - 3 days. I am currently cutting down and not yet smoke free .

Fed up feeling like this.
I've
quit
smoking
,
quit
drinking, quit drugs, made changes to my diet, eating a lot less chocolate, more veg, even started watching the salt and fat content in products I buy, but nothing is improving! I'm seriously fed up feeling like this.

Day 11 update
But he probably isn't as happy as he could be, if he
quit
smoking
. But still it's hard because I look up to him as a hero. All in all, today wasn't too hard, but I need it to get easier every day I think.

Day 11
Last week was pure torture for me because I felt drained all day and ever since I
quit
smoking
I can't sleep through the night. This week I'm congested and exhausted. I feel like I have to drink energy drinks to stay away. When I do get the urge for a cig I walk for 5 min and the craving passes.

2nd May 2012 ......
I always knew that when the time came and I
quit
smoking
, for me, the only way would be cold turkey, so that's what I did. Before I started, I decided to research the internet to see what kind of help was out there to help me.

Smelly Kisses
Hated
smoking
, but couldn't
quit
. So glad I did now though! Don't have to worry about what I smell like. Instead, I gotta smell everyone else's stinky cig remains. Is it me, or does it smell like dirt?

The Basket Case
If people aren't judging you about
smoking
( I personally
quit
, yet people look at you like, well I guess you got what you deserved) or avoiding you like the plague for they don't know how to deal with end of life issues.

Quitting again...
Just google quit counter install and set you
quit
details, all free. I have been
smoking
a long time but I guess it is never too late to stop. what prompted me to quit? I don't want to lose my teeth, gum disease and all that. And I almost died a few years ago with pulmonary embolli.

New (sort of) :)
I
quit
smoking
back in December and use Spiriva and Ventolin daily. Since quitting smoking I've been waiting for the moment when I actually feel better but this hasn't happened yet .... has anyone else experienced this ?

Denial is so easy
I
quit
smoking
last year. It's great, I had more money and I stopped coughing as much but it meant I sat inside the cafe at work and had an extra chocolate bar to keep me occupied. I knew I started gaining weight but figured it was winter and I work with horses so I'd burn it off eventually.

Week 2 complete
(I just accidentally posted this in the
smoking
quit
support forum so I am laughing at myself)! I found this week to be quite challenging, I shuffle-jogged as slow as I could muster and had a tug on my inhaler a few times.

Quit
smoking
18 months ago when I started on the oxygen. I'm so worried about the damage radiation will do to my lungs since they are not good now.Keep praying for a miracle though.

Problem solved - Do need T4 - I think! Optimal T4/t3 ratio?
All my blood tests since then have shown no T4 at all even with tsh raised to 30-50 so it appears at some point between giving birth and going GF, my thyroid finally gave up the ghost so have had no T4 in my system since dropping the bit I took for pregnancy - maybe when I

again.
