Are these ectopics? I'm so scared!
Hi all, my first post, so anxious right now. I've had palpitations for a while. Had an echo, stress test and holter monitor. It's picked up a couple of PACS and PVCS which I felt. But I also get on occasion a few palpitations when I lay on my left hand side in bed. I feel my pulse and it's irregular

Have an EP evaluate you
I live in the US (I get the sense that many on this forum are in the UK). I had a 21 day event monitor report that said I had all kinds of weird and scary things, like AF, A flutter, PVCs, and even ventricular tachycardia (which can become the fatal ventricular fibrillation!) My regular cardiologist

Decompensated cirrhosis
Thanks for all your advice much appreciated I am glad my brother has been to doctors he was told that the nose bleeds are not a major concern but to monitor them he also got results of blood tests he had done 10 days ago which showed his liver count was up and kidney count down not too sure what that

Reduction in Flecainide and PVC's - any advice please?
Morning all I'm now in my third week of a reduced dose of Flecainide - down from 2 x 100mg gradually to 2 x 50mg. In that time I've had no AF or tachycardia but in the last week (on 2 x 50mg) have had several half-hour runs of PVC's, coming every 2nd, 3rd, 6th beat, singly and randomly. I could better

Had more blood tests and consultation with GP (family doctor), mostly better news I think
Hi all, I had a long consultation with my doctor this morning and we talked about the blood tests done on 15 September. I don't have a copy of all the results, because there were so many of them. However, the liver function test results were as follows: Albumin: 48 g/l (normal

Harvoni treatment based on platelet count
Just wondering if anyone has read the new Nice guidelines about Harvoni treatment being based on platelet count...It looks like if you have a platelet count of below 75 then you might not be offered Harvoni even if you have cirrhosis. ..hoping that my platelet count doesn't go below the 83 that

Are these PVC's?
Can anyone recognise these peculiar beats please? My AliveCor cannot classify them but they feel like premature beats without the pause and racing. Any help appreciated.

Hiprex (methenamine - oral, Mandelamine, UrexHexamethylenetetramine): anyone?
My consultant urologist tells me hiprex is our fall-back treatment re the way we're managing the chronic issues involved in my various chronic urological/renal conditions. Nearly a year into finally tackling these lifelong problems in a more concerted manner, the treatment plan immunology+rheumatology

End stage alcoholic cirrhosis remarkable improvement.
Hi, Just thought my wife's story might give hope and positivity. Carol was hospitalised in April 2014 with massive abdominal ascites, leg oedema, malnourishment and a alcoholic cirrhosis liver and all other associated symptoms. During that stay they drained about 30 litres of fluid, sorted her meds

Well I have just filled mine in with the help of someone who fills them in all the time for her job, have no idea what job title she has lmao. It was not too hard as I have done loads of research on filling it in and she really knew what she was doing. I had to put down how the illness was affecting

Cirrhosis and disability.
My doctor mentioned today about my CT scan and it confirmed chronic cirrhosis, several varracies and hyper portal hypertension. He said this condition can be classed as a disability and gave me some websites to look at. Does anyone here claim disability benefits or class themselves disabled?

I am petrified of the bladder biopsy I am about to have..... Can anyone help?
I have been suffering with persistent abdominal pain which has in the past been treated as a uti but in January I managed to see a urologist who upon listening to my tail of woe agreed with me and suggested that I had developed interstitial cystitis. In order to be 100% sure about this, they want me

Muscle wastage / decompensated cirrhosis??
Does any one know if having muscle wastage means that your cirrhosis is decompensated? I have recently been diagnosed with it and given little bottles of protein and carbohydrate to take between meals. I have had A.I.H. with cirrhosis for over 20 years with no other symptoms such as ascites or varices

Terry's nails?
My nails are very pale with the red band on the top. I read cirrhosis can cause this. What in my bloodwork should I look for that would cause Terry's nails? I read it could be from low albumin but mine is normal is there any other causes?

Hello everyone
Just thought I would say hello to everyone. I think the group is grate. I have a new diagnosis of alcoholic cirrhosis, however I did have liver issue before the alcohol. Alcohol induced cirrhosis
Is it me or is splitting up liver disease into alcohol induced cirrhosis or drug induced cirrhosis completely counter productive giving the nature of the disease. The first thing you need to do if youre an alcoholic is stop drinking and the stigma or being branded an alcoholic is one of the obstacles
