I need reassurance
Hello everyone. My mom is 69 and she went into theatre 2 months ago to do a knee replacement. All seemed fine until she complained of pain in the other knee ( the one with a year old replacement). she was rushed to hospital as she showed signs of confusion. After tests, she was diagnosed with sepsis

update on my knee surgery. I was very fortunate in having a wonderful doctor. After evaluating the health of my knee, ligaments and all, he determined the only issue was arthritis in the lateral aspect. With that, I was able to have a partial knee replacement instead of a total replacement. When

Is there a Physio in the house?
Ive been running again since new year and completed C25K in middle March, I’ve now been running regularly and slowly increasing my distance.......BUT After my last run ( 5K ) on Tuesday I think I have a serious knee problem. Whilst walking upstairs immediately after my run I heard what I thought was

Hi, been on your wonderful sister site for a few years and need to crossover as I have O/A in the knee. Been advised I need a full knee replacement, at age 67, but with family health problems am not going to be able to have it done at least in the next 6/8 months. So I was wondering if you experts can

Total Knee Replacement Surgery
Hi All, Well, I'm going to have Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery for my left knee soon and I'm a bit leary about it due to my ataxia. My neurologist says to have it, as he wants me to keep moving. I haven't really been able to, as I'm in so much pain, especially when I walk with my cane or rollator

Can I dare hope ?
I have had several falls in the house over the past 18 months and need knee replacements so there is no way I can pull myself up. I have been fortunate in several follow ups with home visits from the Physio teams, exercises and walking aids etc. I am told that if I persevere with the muscle building

I am celebrating! The NHS has agreed to fund my final knee replacement!
My local CCG has a policy of not even allowing us to see an Orthopaedic surgeon unless we were the right BMI, let alone having surgery. Without exception. So I have had to fund a hip and a knee replacement myself.OH and I looked it all up- he said there must be a way to appeal. We found one way which

An up date, 4 weeks post knee replacement- so far, very good!
Thans to all whose supportive replies strengthened my reslove to go ahead with the knee replacement three weeks after cardioversion for possible perimitral AF. The good news is that the op, performed under spinal anaesethesia, went smoothly with no sign of AF. I must have lost a fair amount of blood
