Knee Surgery - Recovery With Severe RA Elsewhere - How does the Physion Work?
Hi, anyone out there had replacement knee surgery whilst suffering from severe RA in arms, shoulders, elbows, hands and other knee, legs? My sister has this condition and they want her to have the surgery as both knees are bone on bone - what I want to know is how does someone with this condition recover

Two Years Into Osteoarthritis
I started walking to relieve some of my “multiple site” osteoarthritis. Its Winter here in Wisconsin, so getting out there is hit and miss, depending on the road conditions. My docs at the VA wont prescribe anything for this condition except Ibuprofen. Ive read that ibuprofen breaks down the cartilage

anxious about knee ops.
Hello, I wonder if anyone could give me some helpful advice on how to prepare myself and recover from knee replacement surgery, which I have postponed because I am very anxious about how it might affect the other existing health problems I have and of course the possibility of a blood clot. I am 67

Going on with it
I posted earlier about going through a period of PMR pain because I hate prednisone. There is more to it. I was told I could not have bariatric surgery if I were on prednisone. I need the bariatric surgery so I can have knee replacement surgery in July. I saw my doctor yesterday about maybe foregoing

Currently in hospital after a knee replacement op. They want to give me ibuprofen as pain relief. I thought this was a no no for AF PATIENTS currently in NSR?

Knee replacement and PMR
After seeing my latest knee x-rays, my ortho surgeon has added my name to the waiting list to have a total knee replacement (sigh). We discussed my ongoing weight loss and he was very encouraged by my efforts thus far, and I'm more determined than ever to drop another 20 pounds (and do my daily quad

Post Surgery Infections - uh oh!
Hi lovelies! Hope everyone is having a great holiday 🎄🎁🍾!! In my last post I mentioned how thrilled I was to not make it through a full day and evening of activities + travel. And a few weeks back things were going well. Then I crashed, in bed from the 15-20th and again on 22nd. Mostly fatigue and

Genicular nerve block
After having both knee replacements 2yrs ago. I'm in constant pain, it's now a neuropathic problem it seems so I'm considering the genicular nerve block in both knees. I'm hoping if it works i can finally ease up on all the painkillers i have to take. Has anyone had success with this type of treatment

PE after knee surgery and complications
Hi - my OH experienced a PE 3 days after his knee surgery and is now on apixiban for 3 months. The problem is, he keeps experiencing internal bleeding which pools around the knee which isn't dispersing and consequently allowing him to move forwards with knee recovery. Has anyone experienced this complication

Advice about mannitol
I started mannitol 5mg twice a day. I felt I was moving about a lot more easily. But I had to give it up because it seemed to be giving me diarrhea. Diarrhea is a perennnial problem for me. It was partly solved by taking LDN but I had to give that up when I had a knee replacement. I feel I can't do mannitol

Hi I am a 49 nana to a beautiful granddaughter and another grandchild on the way. I am suffering excruciating pain from OA and need to loose a few stone before I’m 50 and so I can have knee replacements. So the journey begins today to loose 3 stone!😬

Flare from stretching???
Hello lovelies! Weird thing happened. I had knee surgery and part of rehab is a hardcore stretching program. It’s about 1.5 hours per session at least 3-4 days a week. It’s similar to dancer type stretching with lots of active motions and really pushing things to the limit. However, it’s not “hard”

TKR April 2018 stiffness and sore at 7 months out.
Hi, Im 7 months out of TKR and wish I had never had this surgery. My knee is very mechanical feeling, sore and stiff. I have pretty good range of motion but not w/o pain. I dont need any pain meds and I dont take any RX or OTC drugs. I suspect my spine is the culprit as Ive have spinal fusion at L3-L5
