I have had several falls in the house over the past 18 months and need knee replacements so there is no way I can pull myself up. I have been fortunate in several follow ups with home visits from the Physio teams, exercises and walking aids etc. I am told that if I persevere with the muscle building exercises that I will probably get balance back and will not have to rely on aids. I would love to think that this is true as I have not even been out in my beloved garden for months on end. Has anyone made this kind of recovery? I keep feeling that this is my lot now but others may know differently, Polly X

Can I dare hope ?
Yes it is possible but may take a long time to build up your muscles.
Stick with it

My dear Polly I have no experience of falling or needing knee replacements but my heart bleeds for you when you say that you cant even go into your beloved garden
Just keep looking through your window to your garden and the pull of the beauty and miracle of nature in your garden will help you heal.
Before you have knee replacement see if Prolotherapy will help you. I have researched this thoroughly look up on the web it is most interesting and I understand does not have side effects. All I can say is that my husband had to come home from a holiday in a wheel chair he was in so much pain and could not walk. He had bone on bone After 6 months or prolotherapy he is now walking and the collegan between his knees is now growing again. He was determined not to have a new knee Keep thinking positively.
