Larsen syndrome update.
Hello, thank you all for your replies to my question about Larsen Syndrome. I asked my GP if it continues into adulthood and how it would effect me regarding being able to have knee replacements. Knee replacements - maybe TMI but if you are really interested ...
On Nov 18th at 1.05am I recorded a repeat of a programme on Channel 5: Minute By Minute. Medical documentary series. Highlights of an operation to remove the ends of the bones of a patient's knee joint and replace them with metal-and-plastic substitutes. Those of you who have had or are expecting to

Knee replacement surgery and aftercare
I’m having the first of two knee replacements shortly and would be grateful for any advice from others who have had this surgery please. I have lupus SLE and at the moment I am just on Hydroxychloroquine to manage it. Reading stuff online is not helping as it is so alarmist regarding possible issues

Mosaicplasty or knock knees?
If I go ahead with these osteotomies I fear I will then be
knock
kneed as the osteoarthritis is mainly on the inner
knee
cartilage. Has anybody had a procedure known as a mosaicplasty?

Can anyone give me some advice on giving up drinking? I’ve cut down a lot over 25 years but noticed around about this time of year i drink a lot more. In the past 4 weeks I have drank a bottle of wine every other day or sometimes every day. Compared to what a use to drink a day this is good for me.

New to the group - Rehab help advise please
Well I didn't think one week ago I'd be joining this group. Hi everyone! Here is my story. I've also a question about rehab. A couple of weeks ago I didn't feel too well, but it didn't stop me from going kayaking on my local river. I had been contemplating doing the Anglesey circumnavigation that weekend

Ongoing knee pain
I just have a question: I was diagnosed with PV 3-19 treating with baby aspirin and phlebotomy only. I also have osteoarthritis in knees. I had a knee replacement done 3-19 with continued swelling and now becoming increasing painful. Both swelling (from before) and pain come only after being on feet

Knee replacement, wound and shingles , what a month!
I had a Total Knee Replacement on 10/7 and it went really well, or so I thought. I ended up getting a very deep wound were my incision is and going to to wound clinic every week. Then I got shingles even though I am vaccinated! It's been very interesting. My next Ocrevus infusion is in less than

Worried about impending surgery
I’m 72 and was recently diagnosed with NASH at level 3. The GI doctor is not sure why but thinks it possibly was drug induced when I took a high powered antibiotic and statin meds but she also thought it could be an autoimmune response since I have several autoimmune conditions. I need to lose 15 lbs

Partial knee replacement
I am about to pay privately for a partial knee replacement as I cannot wait another two years to have it done on the NHS. I am 73 and live on my own. Knee and hip replacement hampered by Covid lockdown then PMR was
Can anyone advise, please? I was put on the list for a knee replacement and also the opposite hip replacement some 3 to 4 years ago. Then diagnosed with PMR just as the first UK lockdown occurred. Because of lockdown I was not seen by my doctor, just eventually seen by an Osteo consultant who diagnosed

I am fixing to have a total Knee Replacement. My Otho Doctor wants me to take Celebrex. I take Elquis for AF. Has anyone had to do this? I have a big fear of taking it together.

I danced the cooldown!
Done. W9R3 completed and I am elated. Was told by the physio that I'd never run for fitness since diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis grade 4. Told by the surgeon there was nothing I could do but keep slim and book in for a partial knee replacement. So I stopped moving, got depressed and put on a stone
