Lupus & The Skin
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but after reading a few posts I feel at home already, everyone appears so friendly, supportive and clued up on the disease. I was diagnosed a few months ago after being referred to a Rheumatologist with suspected Rheumatoid Arthritis, I already suffer with Osteoarthritis

PV and hip replacement
I have been diagnosed with PV. I was chatting with a friend and his neighbor also has Polycythemia Vera. What we both have in common is hip replacements. Before my hip replacement all of my blood tests were well within range. 4 years later I have PV. Wondering if any others have had hip replacements,

Ah, Pride goeth before the Fall
I was going to post an encouragement to exercise: even with both knees replaced, a hip replacement, an ankle fusion, and just turning 60 I've managed to ride my bicycle 10 or more miles a day each day this summer and I feel better than I've felt for a long time. I'm on Methotrexate, Tramadol, and Naproxen

Does anyone suffer from upper back pain with IBS?
Along with IBS I have constant stiffness between my shoulder blades.. I told the doctor and he tested my liver and gallbladder.. guess that is a cue for something more seriou; however, that came out normal.. I am just curious if any of you experience upper or lower back discomfort along with your GI

Hello all well I'm awaiting a knee replacement I'm riddled with arthritis I had my hips rayed a couple of weeks ago the doc called me back yesterday and she have now told me I need a hip replacement!!! It's the chicken and the egg scenario what comes first the knee or the hip!! And I'm only just 50!

Anyone else been prescribed Co-beneldopa for RSL?
Hi all, I hope you are all as well as can be. As per the thread title has anyone else been prescribed Co-beneldopa for RLS, as I have just been. I have been trying to get by without extra meds, as I take enough for my fibromyalgia & other things, but it was proving to be a fight I couldn't win so after

What exercise
I used to enjoy swimming/going to the gym, but I now have a 30 mile round trip to do this, so it just isn't going to happen. I then started to do a lot of walking including plenty of hills, but that is now too painful as I am going to have to have a hip replacement. Any ideas what would be suitable

Could I be cheeky and use this forum to contact our American members to ask them if they have any knowledge of the procedure of injecting a synthetic synovial fluid as an alternative to a hip replacement. This treatment seems to be only on offer at a Harley Street practice in this country but apparently

Feeling good
It's a year since my PMR morphed into GCA overnight with scary visual symptoms as well as a tender scalp. 60mg of Pred sent me round the bend mentally and I was just horribly, horribly ill. In that first 9 months of exhaustion, sweats, hideous weight gain and general bonkerdom I could not see any light

Voltarol Emulgel for swollen hands and wrists.
Hi. Have recently had a total hip replacement and while that's gone really well, my hands and wrists are swelling due to using crutches. Wondered if anyone else has had this problem and whether applying Voltarol Gel might help. I am on all the prescribed medication for my rheumatoid disease and the gel

Am I hiv positive, or is it anxiety?
Hi, just a month ago, I was masturbating. I was also curious about how it feels to use a vibrator. So I pull the one that my mom had in her drawer and used it. I didn't insert it or anything and it was there for less than 2 minutes because I didn't like the way it felt. Anyways, while using it, I had
