Augmentation & Ropnirole
My story started in 2013 when shortly after a prostate surgery procedure my rls became a significant issue. A hospital neurologist prescribed Ropinirolde (dosage o.25mg rising to 0.5mg) & tramadol.(50mg) Apart from one or two instances the prescription allowed me more often than not 8 hours sleep every

More Painnnnn!
I am getting really fed up with always finding pain somewhere else on my body. At night I can’t sleep with excruciating pain from my upper thigh hip area down to my knee. I’m waiting to be seen by a physio to access as to wether I need a hip replacement. It’s one thing after another. Any thoughts from

Advice on OA and RA
Have recently discovered I have arthritis- at the moment worst in left hip. (Advised by orthopedic surgeon to consider hip replacement surgery)Also recent blood tests for rheumatism showed RA/RF test 19.6 IU/ml (0.0-15.0) Is this another auto-immune attack relating to Hashimotos I wonder? Also I'm confused

I’m at the point of making a decision about returning to work and am so conflicted about what is best I was diagnosed with RA in November and prior to this I had a hip replacement in September, so I have been off

ET diagnosis without biopsy
Hi, I have just been given a diagnosis of ET, and have to decide on treatment choice: Inferon or Hydroxycarbamide. I have already been taking aspirin and have high blood pressure. I am a bit in shock, trying to find out what I can. I have had elevated platelets since 2010....It was last year that

Avascular Necrosis of femoral head (AVN)
Dx with GCA in March/19, never had a single symptom of arthritis/pmr/or any joint problem of any sort in my life. Have now tapered to 13mg prednisone, now quite suddenly over the last 2 wks, terrible hip pain on left side only. Did not injure it that I know of. Routine scan in Sept showed -2.5 of femoral

Yoga & PMR
I have heard that yoga benefits PMR but as I am waiting for 2 hip replacements I can’t get down on the floor. However last week I went to chair yoga which I found beneficial. I think it is the breathing and stretches that made my body feel more fluid - I find the pool which I loved makes my stiffness

Surgery and PMR
Yesterday I saw an orthopaedic surgeon as I need a hip replacement and when I asked him about risks with having PMR he said it may flare after surgery. I’m on 2 mg of pred and have been trying to taper off them but had to recently increase my dose from 1 to 2 and think I’m on the minimum I should be

Happy New Year??????
Many of you have posted such wonderful thoughts and hopes for the coming year. Here in my part of Canada, we are wondering if we will survive it. Tuesday started snowing, by the time it was done Wednesday (New Years Day) we had 18 inches of new snow to add to that already here. Our driveway is 150 ft

A spot of exercise for 2020 😊
I had my HA while Cycling the 4700 miles around the coastline of Britain in 2017. I did complete it in 119 pedalling days over the course of two years. I did also stop for a hip replacement on route to go with the two replacement knees. This year my challenge is to cycle the shortest distance possible

Weakened Immune System and Open Plan Offices at Work
Hi I have recently been diagnosed (Nov ‘19) with RA and I have been off work for the past few months as I had a hip replacement in September. I have been on Methotrexate for almost 6 weeks and steroid injections prior that - I still have pain and stiffness but certainly not as bad as it was initially

I’m not quite a new member but have only really decided to do something about my weight. In 2010 my husband died. Ever since then I have been dogged with ill health and other rubbish happening in my life. I have AF, had 2 hip replacements, broken left ankle. Last year in October I was diagnosed with

So far....today is not so bad, it is pretty good!
It is amazing how much I appreciate the days that aren't in the 'bad day' category. I was pretty busy, each Monday I go to a therapy session to combat the emotional side of wondering where this will end up? where I will end up? My husband of 31 years and I parted company in 2016 (it was the right thing
