Irritable Bowel Syndrome & AF/SVT
This post was originally on the Arrhythmia Alliance site..... I have tried to convince my GP and Cardiologist for 2 years now, that food bears some connection to SVT for me anyway. Eventually I got a referral to a Gastroenterologist who did numerous blood and urine tests, before Christmas. Apparently

Anaemia 2nd post....
Thank you for your replies. I actually had been to the GP five times since the anaemia diagnosis a year ago, feeling unwell with recurring chest infections, and each time mentioned how my anaemia wasn't improving. I saw my gyne for my annual check up and he thought the anaemia was a mal abosorbtion

Feeling a bit sad
Just needing a bit of a moan :( I have put in a poor few days, pain going down my right leg, pain in my right shoulder, sore back, sore head, post coital bleeding and just generally feeling pretty useless and broken. I've just had my period so thought the worst would be over but it seems to be worse

Update for those who have asked. And for those who haven't there may be some bits of interest. For the last 2 years David has been in extreme pain with his right hip. Added to his spinal trauma and degeneration - been in a mess. Extensive tests 12 months ago resulted in the diagnosis of Bursitis. Several

Hi - I was diagnosed with GCA 19 months ago, starting with an 80mg dose. Now I have to have two hip replacements.
I am lowering as fast as I can as they won't operate till I'm down to 10mg. I've got as far as 14mg, but my bloods markers are up. Since I got down to this dose a couple of weeks ago I've started to get a very swollen face again - I think this must be due to the GCA not being so well controlled - had

Bowel Preparation
Hi. I am having a endoscopy on Friday due to bowel pain I've experienced since my lap in August. I've been given a cancellation appointment so only got the letter/instructions regarding the bowel prep today and I'd already had a small amount of bran flakes for breakfast as I didn't realise you shouldn't

Hip replacement update
Here I am on day 10 of a projected 42 day recovery. I was in the hospital for 6 days -- longer then anticipated because my blood pressure kept crashing whenever I tried to get up. Why? Guesses -- anesthesia sensitivity? narcotic/pain reliever sensitivity? fluid imbalance due to surgery? laying

Fenofibrate almost crippled me And I only took it for 18 days...........MOST pain left after stopping fenofibrate for 3 days, except left knee pain. This stuff should be outlawed.

Have had Sjogren's for nearly 10 years (am 65y.o.) I recently had a hip replacement, for which I lost some weight, and improved my fitness.
From 61kg, now down to 51.5kg, I am looking a little scrawny at 164cm height. I find I am continuing gradually to lose further weight. Is Sjogren's a connection here? Could it be candida in my gut? I've plenty of energy; follow an alkaline eating regime, though not strictly. Would supplements help (if

GUM Clinic/Sexual Testing. Do I have to be tested for everything?
I have recently gotten into a new relationship at university. I have been checked before for STD's but never for HIV. I like to get checked whenever starting a new sexual relationship. My new partner has been checked and he has assured me that he has nothing. However, we want to stop using condoms as

I wondered where you all felt most pain with PMR?
I am diagnosed with atypical PMR and have severe pain in my buttocks and thighs, but only a little shoulder pain. I also have disc degeneration in my lumbar spine, and have had two successful hip replacements. If I reduce my steroids below 15mg the pain worsens. It is bilateral and is unlike the pain

COPD and general anaesthetics
Hi I have osteoarthritis (in addition to moderate copd), the arthritis in my hips is now getting bad enough to interfere with my ability to work, where I should be on my feet on and off for five plus hours.... (I love my job, and don't want to give it up). My GP, who I saw yesterday, has offered to

A baby step forward?
I saw the orthopedic surgeon at Duke and he outlined the first steps in the hip replacement plan. Step one is to consult with a Duke based hematologist who will be the " in charge doc" through my treatment. Then the anesthesiologist, and allergists to sort through my multiple drug allergies, then possible

RLS and stomach/bowel problems
I have been looking up stuff about RLS for a while, and nothing points towards bowel problems as a leading cause of RLS. I have suffered from RLS for many years, but only recently have I made the link between bowel problems and the incidence of RLS. Notably, constipation is present when RLS decides
