Stopped drinking AGAIN!
I have joined this group today with great intentions and joined a
fitness
and an alcohol tracker. I will probably be on here just to chat to like minded people who understand because those around me just don't get it. Thanks for listening.

Recovery and a balanced lifestyle - fun is as important as exercise
Recovery is a complex process and we live in a culture that appears to value
fitness
above all else. I find it extraordinary that it’s acceptable to discuss the various ins and outs of exercise and the relative value of Fitbit versus iWatch yet relegate humour to its own special compartment.

CATCH up CORNER. DECEMBER. WEEK 1.... Come on in, there is a Warm Welcome.
Fitness
will not be lost because you took an extra rest day or two,,, In other words, the rest we need, and the rest we take, even slightly prolonged rest can help make us into better runners. So...what am I going to do to show myself some kindness?

Rest days
In advance I was worried both about my ability to do anything at all, plus the possibility of losing
fitness
in my time away. I did 19,000 steps on Friday and 17,000 yesterday, so there was no problem either way! Naturally, I got very, very tired.

Recommendations for a a fitness tracker
I have a Fitbit inspire 2 which does a good enough job of counting steps. What I'm looking for is something which will alert me when my heart rate reaches one or more thresholds that I set (going up and down would be ideal). Ideally, the alert would be an audible one.

Week 7 run 3 to week 8 run 1
At least all the walking I did last week, about 50km all told, helped keep my
fitness
level up, Week 9 is in sight, getting excited now😀👍. Now on to the garden to get it tidy again, it really grew el whilst we were away.

Sick Sinus Syndrome
I have been re-building my
fitness
and am back to Gym, Table Tennis, Yoga and Tai Chi. My Cardiologist has finally referred me to an EP, However, I guess I will wait ages for an appointment !! My curiosity is about some weird symptoms that may indicate Sick Sinus Syndrome?

Is this take 3 or take 4?
I did 3 months of Joe Wicks hiit classes to get a bit more cardio
fitness
(minus the heavy on the knees exercises) and now have started back on C25K on a treadmill (less chance to re injure while strengthening apparently).

An Update on my running Progress and a little info for the taller runners
After my hamstring injury earlier this year, took me out of the game for more than a few weeks, it surprised me how quickly I lost my
fitness
, but the desire to run was still in me. Initially with still a grumbling hamstring I started running again.

My CLL Specialist seemed concerned. I need help understanding test results.
I have lost a lot of my
fitness
since then. My recent results (my interpretation) indicate disease progression. I could use some help figuring out what my test results mean.

Thoughts on the increments…
My point in posting this is not to knock the programme which I think is wonderful but maybe to suggest that new runners are cautioned to think about their
fitness
and to tailor it to be more gentle increases , prepare for it in doing a gradually increasing walking/running pre programme, or repeat weeks

I really, desperately want to run properly again and I'm trying to find a way to maintain my
fitness
whilst protecting my back and the muscles from my knees to mid back - where most of my pain is at the moment.
