A great video on the effects of 10 years MAF training
But what better way of regaining my
fitness
. I use a Polar hr chest strap on my runs as I find it has more stability than my Garmin . I used them many years ago when I gave up smoking (26 years ago) and have now bought a newer polar strap.

WEEKLY CHAT 29TH JAN - 4TH FEB: Anyone fancy the Coldest Marathon in the World? 🥶
I must say, although it’s early days, but my twice weekly sessions on the stationary bike seem to be doing my
fitness
levels and general running a power of good.

Hello friends, I’m new here ☺️
That was back in 2011, and while I’ve had my ups and downs of taking control of my life and put more important on what I was eating and honestly
fitness
is super fun to me now that I’m even in a group that goes weekly.

Recommendations for a a fitness tracker
I have a Fitbit inspire 2 which does a good enough job of counting steps. What I'm looking for is something which will alert me when my heart rate reaches one or more thresholds that I set (going up and down would be ideal). Ideally, the alert would be an audible one.

Struggling.. Again
I want to be accountable so I'm thinking about rejoining My
fitness
pal. But the last time I was on there I got overly obsessed with counting calories. Restricting a lot which I personally think contributed to developing an eating disorder. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Being a Little Cautious about Exercise
There have been two or three posts on here recently, and no doubt before, from people who have had a recent heart event and appear to be desperately wanting to get back into their exercise regime asap, clearly wanting to return to their
fitness
level and way of life before their 'event'.

My physical
fitness
includes 200 - 300 minutes of high intensity work outs. I feel out standing. Get a little rib pain where the two most active lesions are located. I am posting this because of an interesting statement Dr. Sen made to me.

Use of NSAIDs in lieu of steroids
I am at a cross- road of either accepting pain and stiffness as inevitable at my age and
fitness
level or continuing on medication to alleviate it, with the consequences of that continuum. I would welcome views and advice.

Ooh, my
fitness
must be increasing!! That nice Mr Garmin has knocked 16 years off my age and my VO2 is now in the blue 'excellent' zone :) (part of my decision to run slow was to improve this. So yes, I am back.

Back for the 3rd time
I decided to go out running 2 weeks ago, just to test my
fitness
levels, without any real plan of what I was going to do. My run was cut short due to bad blistering on my left heel after about 5 mins, I was about to just throw the running shoes away.

Physical Activity & COPD resulting in sickness
To date, its mostly been treated with inhalers as and when needed and for a long time she's been (relatively) fit - up until Covid hit, she was capable of a robust 9 holes of golf but shielding and so on have really knocked her

down and mostly now her activity is limited to a quick trip to town

Sunday Long Run 🌧️
I have been continuing my training plan to increase my endurance and
fitness
by running three times a week. My runs are still HR based and vary in effort.

#Walk1000Miles : How’s everyone doing?
And that’s what a challenge is for, to give you a challenging but realistic
fitness
target, right? And I’m doing ok, I’m ahead in mileage and a few weeks ago received my 750mile notification!
