At last 5k in 30mins

After completing C25K last year it’s taken me until today to run 5k in 30 mins.

I am so chuffed as I try not to get too hung up on speed pace etc but today I set out determined to give it my best shot and I actually did it.

I am realising that running is maybe 60%fitness and 40% mental preparation. Certainly the right mindset can do wonders. I’m practicing both for my impending 10k run in 2 weeks. Slow and steady gets you there. 👍🏼

Excellent work! 🙌 I think I have got 6th either way now and am slowing down in order to be able to run for longer!

🍏What a feeling it is to run that first 5K in 30mins after graduation.. stands you in good stead for the 10k race..let us know how you get on! I agree with you! Running is as much about the mindset as the legs!! You are doing well in both departments so keep up this great work!!! You inspire us all to reach new goals!

Congratulations! That’s a brilliant achievement. You’re going to be so well prepared for your 10k race. Can’t wait to hear how it goes. You’ve done all the hard work and you’re ready.

You might like to pop over to the Marathon and Race Support board (soon to be renamed Fun beyond 10K, plus race support) where there’s a pom pom shout out post for cheers!

It’s super friendly over there and you’ll see many of the same names too!

Once again, well done on your new PB today. Another milestone to be really proud of,
