I canβt believe I have done it! About 12 years since I last did it. Did my first Parkrun today. I was so scared. Everyone was so positive, I must have had 20 people wishing me good luck as I went round. I was just so glad to finish. Can I please request a graduation badge? π
Weβve got a weekly parkrun thread over on Bridge to 10kβ¦you might like to say hi and get lots of cheers from other park runners too! Hereβs this weekβs:
My boyfriend and I finished the C25K runs and now trying to keep to 3 x 30 minute runs a week (weather permitting). After an unfortunate accident I restarted once my ankle had recovered and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am sure I am fitter now than I have ever been in my life. After every run we have been taking the dogs straight out for their walk and that is an hour at least at quite a brisk pace which I am sure helps too. They get longer walks on our non running days and even longer at weekends. They have shorter and a more sedate walk in the evenings.
It is still hard to believe I can run for 30 minutes, its something I just would not have thought possible a year ago.
I finished this week!! Itβs been great to be able to read the advice on here as Iβve been going along! Thank you. Can I please have a graduate badge??
Stick around and let us know how youβre getting on, fellow runner! You might like to pop into this weekβs graduatesβ chat post and say hi. Youβve got exciting times ahead!
Week 1 Run 1 29.9.2023 - Week 9 Run 3 21.12.2023. Graduated. Thank you to all involved in this program and all who posted advice and positivity on healthunlocked. Couldn't have done it without you. Now for some consolidation. And a pint πΊ.
I also felt a bit lost when I finished. Itβs really common. You might like the Nike Run Club app-thatβs free and has loads of guided runs. Itβs cheesy at times but I love it.
