Back at it after ankle injury
Went over on my ankle nearly 3 weeks ago, seemed I had stretched tendons on both sides of ankle. I rested, frustratingly, did all the strengthening exercises. My physio friend told me to return to running as long as the pain didn’t go higher than 4/10. I used ankle support and went for it this morn.

Hospice-ask your doctor and look into it.
Our neurologist recommended hospice for my husband in dec 2018. My father was dying and put off until now. We met, he was approved and I can’t tell you how helpful after one visit -all within an hour and a half. His lift recliner had broken, we got a new one this afternoon. He will get a hospital bed

New strange symptom
Hi Everyone, Hope you are all well, I’ve been experiencing some strange sensation when I’ve been drinking cold drinks and it’s really hard to explain but here goes. When I drink a cold drink I have one part of the roof and back of my mouth that go numb - it’s as if I’m about to get brain freeze but

Thursday
Got to sleep until 4:30 today. Got up exhausted. Walking into Larry’s bedroom. He was half on the floor holding a plastic urinal in his hands. He was trying to put it down after using it. Fell halfway out of bed. Was sort of kneeling leaning against the bed. Had to pry the urinal out of his hands. He

Graduated tonight. I'm champion of the world... well that's what Jo Wiley told me ;)
Took me longer as had a trochanteric bursitis
injury
just as I got to week 9
back
in May. Rested well and started at week 1 again but had more rest days, sometimes 1 day in between, sometimes more. Never doubt your capabilities, this program works, I've just proved it (as well as many others) 🤩

Post lumbar microdiscectomy surgery/recovery
In the past year due to a shoulder
injury
and my
back
injury
I had gained over 3 stone. I have rejoined slimming world last week because the less I weigh, the less strain on my back. I am back to walking a few times a week to rebuild strength in my left leg and back.

My daughter suffered an anoxic brain injury two months ago and her sight hasn’t come back yet
My 24 year old daughter suffered an anoxic brain injury two months ago. She was on life support for three weeks, started breathing on her own after three attempts to remove the ventilator. She has been in a hyper acute neurological rehabilitation ward for four weeks and has gone from having an ng tube

Started W5 (again) today
So I graduated C25K 6 months ago but have struggled to consolidate & then had an
injury
that really set me
back
& I'm still recovering from it. Today I decided to rejoin the programme to give myself a much needed boost & it feels good.

Raising awareness and support for PMRGCAuk ... climbing an Ultimate Mountain
I'm still in remission with Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and as the PMRGCA North East coordinator I'm raising awareness and support for PMRGCAuk by climbing one of the world's highest, coldest, remotest and most dangerous mountains in the high Nepal Himalayas in October/November. I'm on a 32-day expedition

Another run done - springing into September
I think the Bridge to 10k Magic Plan is going to have to wait a while, I really don't want to overdo things and put myself
back
on the
Injury
Couch. But if I can just keep on running three times a week, then that's good enough for me. Feeling really happy right now. ☺ 👟 🎉

Getting back after injury.
After my Hamstring injury on June 27th, I tried to restart my running on July 9th, and just tore the damn thing again. So I have been working on getting it back in shape with an Exercise Ball, and Foam Roller, and loads of 'trapped-indoors' syndrome! On Wednesday, 2 weeks after the last failed attempt

Liver pain
Anyone? I suspect it’s liver pain, it comes and goes and is more often a dull pain above my right hip and below my ribs. I can’t find any pattern to it and I’ve had it on and off for a couple of years. I have no other symptoms other than thyroid ones! And yes, I will see my gp 😉

In remission with PMR and climbing one of the World's most dangerous mountains
Today the Durham Times (UK) has reported my forthcoming attempt in Oct/Nov to climb Annapurna IV (7525m / 24,700ft) to raise awareness of my condition Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Six years ago I was advised I wouldn't climb again and now I'm attempting the ultimate challenge ... to put my body against one

Mountains are definitely a metaphor of life ...
I'm in remission with Polymyalgia Rheumatica and I'll be climbing one of the world's highest, remotest, coldest and deadliest mountains as the ultimate challenge. Annapurna IV (7525m / 24,700ft) is in the Nepal Himalayas and the expedition will take 30 days with technical climbing and four high camps

Advice for services/rehab
I sustained a head
injury
back
in 2010. Whilst it’s mild and I’ve managed to get through uni, I’m now taking a small break before starting work part time. During this break I’d like to aim to get my baseline health/symptoms back to as low as possible before starting work.
