So I completed my first half marathon on Sunday in 2.00.52.
When I started running in January i had supportive shoes for my pronation.
I recently transitioned to trial shoes which are netrual and from a gait analysis I was told they were seeing the same minimal pronation with both sets of shoes.
The question I have is that my legs have been quite sort since but I dont know if it's just sore calfs or my Achilles. Is there a way to tell the difference?
Keen to get back out tomorow but dont want to risk a Achilles injury
Thanks

First run back needs to be short, gentle and slow... which will aid recovery. If there’s any sharp pain then don’t run... if it’s just an ache a recovery run as described will get more blood flowing to the area, bringing with it the required nutrients to speed recovery up. A brisk walk would do the same job if you’re not 100% about running.
How long is it since you changed your shoes? There will be a transition period as the muscles slightly adjust. Great time and accomplishment on your HM. Rfc x
