So I completed my first half marathon on Sunday in 2.00.52.
When I started running in January i had supportive shoes for my pronation.
I recently transitioned to trial shoes which are netrual and from a gait analysis I was told they were seeing the same minimal pronation with both sets of shoes.
The question I have is that my legs have been quite sort since but I dont know if it's just sore calfs or my Achilles. Is there a way to tell the difference?
Keen to get back out tomorow but dont want to risk a Achilles injury
Thanks

Well first off, I have a Half Marathon digital badge for you! Well done, that is a really great time! With regards to the injury, it's hard to say but Achilles usually is painful lower down for me, whereas my calf issues occur just behind/below the knee joint with the calf muscle locking up occasionally - often at the strangest times. Rolling and a hot shower with some stretching usually put it right. I am no expert but I would say it might be best to see a sports doctor or Physio if it does not lighten up in the next few days.
