Firstly why do my legs feel like jelly, (now on 11mg) and secondly what is the threshold for referral to a rheumatologist?
I was first diagnosed with PMR at the start of lockdown and the euphoria triggered by pred was amazing but since then 3 attempts to get below 7mg haven’t succeeded. I walk my dog daily for about 1 hour so I don’t understand why my legs feel so weak. I am in a constant battle with tiredness but I don’

Is it worth doing 'internal stretch' or muscle exercises?
Hi - a strange question perhaps. When diagnosed with Limited Systemic Scleroderma a year ago, I was sent info sheets with hand stretching/ flexing exercises and the need to do them often was reinforced in verbal advice. I am now aware I am finding it hard to swallow some things more often so I wondered

REFINING MY PREVIOUS QUESTION (,,, food for thought): should it be preferable in PSP to take phenylalanine instead of tyrosin supplements?
REFINING MY QUESTION (,,, food for thought...) Tyrosine is a dopamine percursor and as such appears to be a good option for supplementation in PSP. “Tyrosine hydroxylase” is the enzyme responsible for catalyzing the conversion of the amino acid L- tyrosine to L-DOPA. Tyrosine can also be made of phenylalanine

Calling all Pom Pommers!!! A BIG race!!!🎉📣🏅
An awesome bunch - the dapper David_G (on his way
back
from
injury
), the lovely Langley-Loper (hoping to avoid migraines and loomergencies) and the rocking 'n racing Rooster678 (continuing her HM a month streak). Anyone else entered the big Half? Or any other races this weekend?

Chronic back and neck pain post injury
Hi all, I am new to this site. I’m a 42 yr old male, ex service, shot twice with high velocity rounds over 10yrs ago in right hip and lower leg. Care throughout both Mil and Civ has been quite poor tbh. L5 vert damaged with compression to sciatic nerve. Ankle joint smashed and Achilles’ tendon suffered

Back after injury 10K completed
So after having to ease up on the running due to ham string problems since February, I have been building up my running over the last few weeks running 3K and 5K's. I ran a 7K a week ago and this week successfully completed a 10K and to top it off it was a PB for me. Running is such a great boost

What is this strange sensation, I thought.
I have tried to avoid them since coming
back
from
injury
, but for a while now that's been due to laziness, not the danger of hurting myself! Anyway, I started running and after about ten minutes I wondered what felt different. Then I realised my arms felt a bit chilly.

Back again
Hi all , after a 10 month and still ongoing
back
/nerve
injury
I'm attempting it all over again. I've so missed running and the forum and it's endearing to see old and new names and faces. Although not 100% recovered I thought I'd take it steady and if it doesn't aggravate or worsen I'll continue.

Speech Recognition
I had a speech recognition test which came back very low in one ear. In that same ear I have tinnitus and hyperacusis. I would appreciate any advice or help with this or further tests that can be done I had an MRI which came back clear

Encouragement to cross the bridge again!
Look what arrived through my letterbox today- no excuse now to get
back
to training. Just need my
injury
to behave itself!

Great South Run - not my finest hour but Portsmouth ❤️ you were fantastic yet again! 👏👏🙂🏅
I really wasn’t aware of any discomfort at all ( runners knee has been a bit of a nuisance on longer runs since an
injury
a few years
back
). Oh, and there’s a relatively ok photo of me running past HMS Victory too!

Greater Understanding of PV, ET Drives Potential New Treatment Options
“Continued high-impact research may soon foster the development of disease-modifying therapies for PV and ET and satisfy this need for the optimal management of patients with these MPNs,” they said. Researchers are also determining how to best optimize current treatment options, including JAK inhibitors
