Hi All, is anyone suffering with Anxiety?(that's probably a dumb question.most of us have it. I has diagnosed late in life about five years ago. My problem is that I suffer ANXIETY big time. Which I can't sleep without an Aid.Even before I has diagnosed with Panniculitus. I didn't't sleep without a sleep aid, etc. My Primarydoctor has described a low does (0.5)for many years as needed and halved when I can. I follow my order once a day, and I don't abuse it. My problem is that my relatives and significant others all talk against my taking it. This small dose when I take it, puts me on an even keel. I try Melatonnine, Theanine, etc. But it's not as effective. Any advice on this problem.I also take Dapsone, Meloxicam,Metoprolol , what's the difference when you have to take other Meds for this or that

Hi Goinglong10 I developed anxiety and went for CBT to get some coping strategies. I also couldn't sleep.

Something really simple which made a big difference for me was meditation.

I've never been into meditation, I tried it a few times and it had done nothing for me so I was massively sceptical. But my psychologist explained that it's not the one off sessions that help but regular practice. Apparently there are clinical studies showing that regularly meditating does lower anxiety levels if done consistently over 10 weeks I think. So I decided to give it a go - frankly I got desperate and was willing to try anything. So I started about a month ago of doing 15 minutes in bed in the morning before I get up and 30 minutes in bed before I fall asleep - I use one of the meditation apps and I have to say that by week 3 I really was feeling a difference. I now do it religiously every morning and night and I feel really good for it. So that might be worth a go as it's a really simple thing to do.

Otherwise the CBT also helped me and of course I also have propranolol on standby from the doctor but I've not needed to use it since I really gave this meditation thing a go in earnest so fingers crossed that continues.

I hope some of this helps - anxiety is THE WORST. It has been a battle getting myself to a place where I could sleep again and was not having awful intrusive thoughts, they still happen but much much less frequently now. xxx

Apps for hypnotizing you to sleep helped me. Also CBT is a must. Without it I feel nothing would work. It has to be a combination w CBT always

Hi I also suffer from anxiety which brings on panic attacks . I joined an online meditation called Headspace which takes you through the basics and I find is really helping me. I am now learning how to focus and stay in the present rather than focusing on what ifs. Anxiety is very hard to deal with and I also take something to help me sleep some nights. I think you have to do what is best for you medication wise as it is easy for other people to give you their opinion. If someone has never suffered from severe anxiety they cannot understand how hard it is for those of us that do. It isn't important what others think about your medication it is what is right for you.

Take care
