Post paracentesis painful lump
I had a paracentesis procedure prior to starting my chemo. After draining about 5 litres of fluid the site dried up but I'm left with an egg-shaped, fist size, hard and slightly painful lump at the entry point of the drain. Has anyone else experienced this? My second cycle of chemo is next week and I'm

The slippery slope
So who opened her big mouth too soon then? Moi. That's who. Riding high on a wave of euphoria, I had convinced myself I was on the way back up from a long trip down. I told you didn;t I? So what's changed? Errrr..... have no idea... My pecker is down, my positivity as become negative, euphoria

The Hardest Hit ..Disability March
I cannot remember a protest march that was so good natured and amiable. It was more of a gathering of people concerned with highlighting the injustice that is about to happen, and in some instances is already happening. Chondritis
My son has had back pain and the GP has suggested chondritis. Isn't this related to RA? I am really hoping you folks will say no. :(

APART FROM FREEXING HANDS & FEET AM ALSO LOSING MUSCLE TONE.
I have noticed that my bottom is disappearing (honestly, not joking). It seems that all the muscle has/is just fading. It is quite so to sit for long periods. Is this normal in lupus/SJS, should I report it to my new Lupus Consultant?

Stopping Treatment
Have been to see my oncologist today as I have been having problems with ascites this while on Topotecan. Have had 5 sessions since September and at my scan half way through there had been some improvement. He does not want me to have any more chemo and have quality of life rather than quantity. I

My 2 Year RA Anniversary
This, the infection and a
back
injury
caused a huge flare. My consultant took me off enbrel at the end of sept as he felt it failed, my RA nurse disagreed. I was switched to humira and immediately had an allergic reaction so I was changed to golimumab and due to start it mid november.

RA and how it changed my life
When i received physiotherapy from the Police treatment centre (a charity), they discovered a mid
back
injury
. I can only describe this injury as constant pain around the T3/T4 areas. Since that time i have rarely had a day that does not have pain in this area.

Hydrotherapy. week 3
Wonderful. The water was warm, and this time the cubicles were clean as was the water. I would recommend hydrotherapy for anyone with fm/cfs/me/ms I had a lovely time exercising in the water. I have hydrophobia!!!! but I went in the deep end and held onto the bar and "cycled"... I also bobbed about a

Becoming an Expert Patient - article 1
This is the first in a series of articles on Becoming an Expert Patient that was originally published on the FibroAction website in 2008. When I get the time, I would like to update and complete the series, but in the meantime, I'll post them here for you to read, absorb and comment on. In this series

I wasn't going to enter - I'm not sure i'll be ready, but my ex went and did it for me lol - so I'm in - so I now HAVE to stick to this and graduate and then push

injury
I was 2 weeks off of 10k - this time I hope to make it all the way :-)
